What time's best for you, Cath? Hopefully I'll be able to make it for a bit.

That's fine with me, I wouldn't be able to stay late anyway. See you soon.

great! :)

I am shamefully out of beers, as I just arrived home to Oxford today, though I have lots of herbal tea, coffee, normal tea and water. Feel free to bring a beer if you so require/desire!

Does anyone still play in the temple bar anymore? Does is still have a tornado?

I'm getting a bit frustrated playing in reading at the mo.

Would anyone be interest in a few games down the temple bar this friday?

Unfortunately, new landlord got rid of the tornado a few months ago, so we are now tableless.

Only other public table (i.e non-college) in Oxford is in the Duke I think, which is a garlando is fairly poor condition.

Poor times indeed. There are still a lot of players Oxford based though!

Ben (or anybody else) you are welcome to play in our weekly dyp's on Thursday nights if you like. They're held at St Catz, on pinny/through-rod Garlando, starting at 8pm. The standard is variable but there are usually at least a few good players. I appreciate that you may not want to play with us students but if you ever want to come along just drop me a PM to let me know.

I'm afraid like Tom says we are without access to a Tornado table in Oxford at the moment.

If was I prepared go to oxford on friday night for a few games, is there anyone from oxford that would be prepared to come to Reading? The trains run pretty late and there's two tables in deja vu, its not as if you wouldn't get plenty of table time?

Sorry, I didn't see your post until just now. To be honest I'm unlikely to travel for foos unless it's a tournament. Trains from Oxford to Reading aren't particularly expensive but when I can play for free here there isn't much incentive I'm afraid...

Cath tells me the landlord who got rid of the Tornado has now left. Temple is boarded up. Hopefully whoever takes over might be open to the idea of having the table back.

You might be right - I remember the guy saying there was no real problem with intake from the table, it was just he wanted space for another pool table (clearly that worked out well).
