I would like to say a huge thank you to FoosballUK and partners for hosting such a good tournament. I want to thank all my partners for playing with me and it was great to see many old and new friends.

Awesome tournament, many thanks to all those who put it together, and to all those who turned up to compete.

Highlights
Inside Foos - really makes a difference, an opportunity for many players to be filmed by Inside Foos and buy their DVDs with Jim Stevens' commentary. Would be interested to find out how many (besides Joe H) were watching the live streaming on netfoos.tv, even managed to catch a bit of it after I got home...
Internationals - We had players from Ireland, America, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Russia, Iran, Malaysia and Kuwait competing in the various events - must be some kind of UK record!
Old Faces - I can't remember the last time I saw Eddie and Bruce in the same room!
Venue - Good venue, friendly staff, cheap food & drink
6-1 - Ferguson OUT?

Lowlights
Losing to Brian Harms for the first time since the NI Open OD final in 2001, felt better when he went on to beat Tich for the first time in 35 years in the next round of Dinosaur Singles - well done Brian!
Generally playing like a muppet for the whole weekend
No decent coffee, no TV to see 6-1 live ;-(
M62 being closed on the way home on Saturday night
The music selection on Mases G-Pod! Foos needs rock, not rave!

Now - about those ITSF rankings...

Really enjoyed this event! Was a massive gathering of old and new faces with a incredible international turnout. Huge amount of fun can't wait for the next one.... Gotta also say the Fireball is great table as it caters for so many technical styles of play making it much more interesting to play... (compared to Tornado for example). Overall a great success, well done to all involved for making it happen.

Highs: Actually playing in a tournament rather than organising one
Lows: Making so many, stupid, silly, inexcusable ball possession mistakes which resulted in losing key points/matches. Not having enough time to speak to everyone properly

PS: It seems the overall consensus is the best tournaments are the ones when the event and players accommodation are in the same place.

This. It means people can socialise after they are out of their events a lot easier as people don't have to rush off or worry about getting back to their accommodation.

Thanks to all the organisers and Bundy (I snored) and all my partners (Sorry Greta), it was a very fun weekend. Also well done to Keele's novices/beginners for playing well and it was great to see international friends come over for the tournament; come back soon :D.

Oh and rollerball was hilarious too.

When's the next tournament after the BFA cup then? ;P

@Boris, I've been watching from Vancouver, Canada. That was great to hear Jim again.
12 000 km away, I can say my Highs and Lows

High: Watching Rob shooting a euro-pin
Low: 8 hours time difference

Great tournament! It was fantastic to see so many international players at a UK tournament. Foosball UK have put on another cracking event.

Highlights:
- Winning left handed singles, knocking out Tony Spred on the way, and coming from 2-6 down to win the final 7-6 against Jon May. Last year I lost to eventual finalist and tricky left-handed player Dave Z early on, this year I met him again early but managed to edge the win. Am considering retirement now I have a 100% lifetime record against the world number 1.
- The "Predict what Mase is saying while commentating for insidefoos" game
- Winning the 3rd-place match of 2BRB against Simon and Dave Z in 2 minutes, making Jon think it was a forfeit :P
- Brilliant bring-your-own balls causing resentment among travelling euros (highlights included the disintegrating flashing ball, the rubber octopus toy, and the wraps tied together)
- Meeting Rob in OS for the first time (yes, really) and having a fun match filmed by insidefoos
- Standing on the hotel room shower mat at the end of the day. Best shower mat ever.
- Epic 8-8 sweatball against Rich Marsh in the pro singles quarter-finals involving a 10-second sequence of the ball pinging around the table with repeated scoring attempts from all bars by both of us until it somehow came to rest on my 5 without having gone in
- Bizarre conversation with a taxi driver who attempted to draw comparisons between table football and real football, deciding that the main difference was "you don't kick it in table football"
- James Littlefair winning us the pro-am winners' quarter-final with a beautiful sweatball 2-bar shot that might have been slightly deflected at least once

Don't you mean compared to Bonzini mostly played by grenouille eaters (which is one of the WORST football table ever 0X )

I won't be so popular but i want to say that i didn't enjoy tournament.

though highs:

Staying at Rob and Ola, thank you very very much.
Playing 2 ball on Sunday evening with Dorota, Potts, Fitz and Grzegor
Sky Tv lol
5 bar

lows:
unthinkable delays
moving ground, almost impossible to defend without moving the table
air conditioning, it was very cold to play on some tables
balls.on friday they were okay, but on sunday they were very slippy.
not enough tables..

that's my opinion only. anyway thanks for the event, i have learned a lot of things this tournament.
see ya in liverpool ;)

Are there any ways we can find the non-ITSF results? Divisional events, fun events etc.?

Thank you guys for the tournament, i had a really good time. always nice to see everyone, so i'm already looking forward to the next UK tournament. and the one after that. and a few more.

highs:
- the table. i LOVE Fireball. really.
- the people. a tournament is always worth coming to if the English guys are there!
- bar staff.
- getting Tessa and Mayya scared in WD (making Tessa go to defence AND STAY THERE :D). a brilliant game, thanks girls.
- not getting beaten exclusively by mid-field hacks in both amateur events - UK amateurs have obviously improved. i must mention Mr. Powers' snaking, which was at least 80%.
- 5 minute warm-up game against Tony.
- bringing some ITSF points to Lithuania (yes, there really are some people who care about this).
- Meng.

lows:
- not staying at the hotel and therefore having to fight for an airbed, losing and suffering.
- first to 7 in SE is only reasonable in handicap events. i'm always surprised by game formats in the UK tournaments. :D
- the floor. Everything was moving. EVERYTHING.
- personal results - not proving that my 7 days intensive foos training course was successful (although i know it was).

thanks again, hopefully i'll see everyone again in Liverpool. : ))

hanging out with the keele collective and the darlington massive
spending time with the the irish contingent....dave b,dave l,dammo, des, peter, norman and gary....these guys made my weekend
spending time with j.p.
meeting and playing new opponents
feeling i played ok at the back
not having to leave the venue all weekend

leaving

roll on the next fireball tournament........

Lows: Thinking tourney was next weekend and agreeing to travel to Ireland on spec (Bloop)

Sounds like it was a super event (I would have loved to have been at the open doubles final!)

Results updated, the revised rankings will be published on or around 1st November.

Not yet included final positions of non-qualifiers in divisional events, will update these in due course.

My opinion may not be objective, because i lost some stupid games because of moving floor:/

Anyway, running such a big event is a huge work, so thanks for making this one ;)

Full divisional event results now up.

I don't propose to list final placings of non-qualifiers in FSO/GW.

Internationals - We had players from Ireland, America, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Russia, Iran, Malaysia and Kuwait competing in the various events - must be some kind of UK record!
And from Switzerland, even though the Swiss delegation wasn't particularly fearsome and mighty  (it was mightily and fearsomely particular at best, haha)

Thanks for this great tournament, I had a fantastic time!

Just some of the highlights:
- Getting to see many friends I haven't seen in too long! And meeting new ones.
- People at the tournament desk were always friendly and helpful. Same goes for the people behind the bar.
- Playing on fireball. Turns out I like this table even though the feeling didn't seem to be mutual.
- As other people already said, having accomodation at the place of the event is great. I don't care if an event runs until well after midnight if I don't have to worry about a place to stay or how to get there.
- Having the pleasure to play with Alex, Chris, Greta, Rich, and JP. I really enjoyed that and hope to play with any of you again sometime! And sorry for all the games you lost because of me.
- Lots of rollerball! And Stupid Rollerball! And rollerball pick-up games!
- Getting kicked out of AD with a slingshot from the back. That was awesome Louis.
- Watching friends do well.
- Plan B!

I'm looking forward to the European Fireball Open 2012, see you there :)

Christian

Highs
- good doubles performance playing in defence, SD 1st, DYP 2nd, OD 7th
- blocking good against absolutely everyone apart from David Detre (an adjustment is needed to my D for players who shoot between 1-3 seconds)
- staying at Ascott Hotel
- playing with Jojanneke in Mixed, loved your shirts (JO2 - brilliant)
- playing with Rich in OD, not just an awesome player but also partner too
- huge thank you to Tich & Pinday who drove to Manchester after club Isha closed at 3:30am Friday
- playing with Tich in SD, he was amazing, fought his tiredness and did the biz
- bruce bruce bruce, the most naturally talented player I've ever seen, touched Fireball first time on Wednesday, played awesome
- seeing Jim & Ice again, albeit briefly
- iceman's five bar
- nubbert's post
- playing with Abdulrahman in the DYP, what a lovely guy and what a unique pullshot
- beating Spree and partner in DYP
- meeting the Kuwaitis, all of them so gracious and talented
- the insane random exploding fireball bumpers
- the brilliant fireball trophies, just the perfect size
- beating top teams with Simmo in 2BRB, e.g. Lyallz and Davey&Amsden
- seeing euro friends in UK, Alexandra, Rytis, Tessa, Szandra

Lows
- losing mysteriously badly (whitewash) in 2BRB to Morgan&Shovo (P.S. the result above looks wrong)
- doing great in GW and FSO rolerball group stage but then losing both in 1st KO round
- poor singles performance, SS 2nd, OS nowhere
- getting 4, 4 and 4 hous sleep respectively on each of the 3 nights
- waiting over 4 hours to play OD loser's bracket match, losing to David Detre just too late to get the my train back
- arriving home at 5:30am Monday morning and getting up for work at 9am
- not making enough time to talk to the Irish boys I haven't seen for so long, and many others too
- no Louise Herring
- underperforming in LHS, not winning it and losing to nubbert, I have no idea what I was thinking
- buying pints of soda and lime and leaving them lying around the venue largely undrunk

Thoughts
- many thanks to Jon and his team for running an enjoyable tournament
- trophy size should be inversely proportional to player rank so as you collect more trophies the space you need for them decreases, Rob Atha would have tropies that are like 1cm tall
