The London Table Football Centre - Players Opening - 4th Dec
The London Table Football Centre
London Trocadero
1 Shaftesbury Avenue
London W1D 7DH
JP Thompson has asked me to announce the players’ opening of The London Table Football Centre at the London Trocadero on Saturday 4th December.
This venue will become the home of the London Table Football Championship, and the home of the London Youth Club Championship, as well as the premier foosball venue in the UK.
The venue is located in the London Trocadero, an entertainment complex located in Shaftesbury Avenue, at the heart of London’s West End district, and 100m from Piccadilly Circus underground station.
When the centre is running at full capacity, its 350 square metres will host 6 Garlando, 6 Roberto Sport, 4 Fireball and a further mix of Tornado and Bonzini tables, split into four playing zones. The tables will be Official ITSF or Recognised ITSF tables.
In order to honour the UK foosball community, there will be a players’ opening at 1pm on Saturday 4th December, timed to allow the UK National teams and champions an early pre-Nantes practice opportunity. The venue will close at 1am.
There will be a further announcement later this week, in which more detailed table availability information will be provided.

Wow - that's quite a move!
Has real potential I'd guess - very central location etc; fingers crossed it works out financially..

Well this sounds fantastic Dave and deserves support but I hope JP knows what he is doing financially (350sqm!).
How many of what type of tables will it have ready for the 4th i.e. before it gets up to "full capacity"? (sorry just reread the post and assume this will be in the next bulletin later this week)
I am assuming they are coin operated at £1? or what ?
Will it be serving drinks and/or food on the 4th?
I assume this will also become the first ITSF training centre in the UK?

I doubt that JP has the inclination to enter the catering business as well, but the Trocadero is full of fast food and drink places.

Re: The London Table Football Centre - Players Opening - 4th
This is simply incredible work by Jp. I popped down a week ago when it was confirmed, the room is awesome. Simply perfect location for those in London and those outside coming in - very close to all major train stations!
This is going to be the heart of the uk foos scene for years to come but right now it needs the support of all the players in London, both currently active and those out of the game for a few years, to come together and kick this off with a bang!
Well done to Jp for securing us all such a fantastic opportunity to grow the game - I will be down on Saturday, who else is coming?

Drive to the outskirts at the end of a tube line, park up and take the tube in and out of the city, although the fare is probably more than the congestion charge it is a helluva lot quicker than trying to drive and the cost will be cheaper overall than congestion + parking + petrol costs.potts wrote:am i right in thinking its in congestion charges area? Re: The London Table Football Centre - Players Opening - 4th
Drive to Hillingdon Tube station. Park there for £1, get the train into London to Piccadilly Circus for about £5 return. You'll spend about 50 minutes on the train both ways, but it will be overground for a lot/most of it so won't be too bad. Last train back from Piccadilly at 22:35.potts wrote:am i right in thinking its in congestion charges area? Parking at Hillingdon works well for day trips into London from the west. Used to do this with my dad a lot when going to away games at Leyton Orient.

Edit: Yeah, what Boris said.

Do not under any circumstances attempt to drive into central London on a Saturday lunchtime before Christmas.

This is a bolt out of the blue! Sounds awesome!!
I have a hockey match in Milton Keynes until about 6pm but I'll try to get a train in for the evening fun. Anything planned event wise?

Superb JP, best of all it's a venue where kids can play and get into the game early.
