ITSF World Cup and World Championships, Nantes 2012

Post by davez » Sat Dec 03, 2011 8:47 am

The news we've all been hoping for!
Jim Stevens wrote:Just finalized an agreement today to host and commentate the live streaming from the World Cup in Nantes, France next month for Kozoom Productions. Kozoom produces table soccer shows for EuroSport TV and has an incredible live streaming platform. This is gonna be fun! And great for the sport!

I understand this was a deal done by Jim and Kozoom. I suspect the reason that the deal has been done is because it did not involve the ITSF whatsoever.

In which case the right thing to do would be to flood ITSF with emails to congratulate them for making such a good decision!

London City airport - direct to Nantes is defo the best way to get there - Really quick and no fuss - Its like flying used to be before the "war on terror"... I'm staying there a bit longer afterwards... my ticket, both ways was £123!

I'm not sure how long these have been available to the public, but here's the draw for men's singles...

http://www.table-soccer.org/tournaments ... w_1776.pdf

Having a quick look, it seems Tom has a favourable draw. He's playing 6 of 8 legs on his home table (Fireball) and the other two on Garlando. All the matches he's playing against players I've heard of (Esterbauer, Meckes, Lounas, Heinrich) are on Fireball.

Looks like Collignon has dropped out of Men's Singles? He was on the original list of registered players but is not in the game schedules (same with Frank Friessem), instead Farid Lounas and Christophe Lerat of ITSF have taken their places as I imagine the game rota had already been drawn up.

I know the top 4 seeds (Fred, Frank, Tony S and Kevin H) are exempt from qualification - they go straight through to the knockouts. Maybe that's where you're getting confused, Will?

In other related news; Ryan Moore (last year's World Champ) has definitely pulled out of singles due to forgetting his passport.

Doh that'll be why then... thanks for the clarification. Looking forward to watching a lot of it over the coming days, good luck Team GB.

I have no idea, the only reference to it I can find is 23:30 on Sunday 08/01 for 90 mins - TABLE FOOTBALL Table Soccer: World Cup - Nantes: Day 4

We can still watch the live stream on Kozoom though, right?

To me it looks like Tommy B has 6 Fireball and 2 Bonzini matches. And Jon has 7 on Fireball and 1 on Bobby Sport... despite apparently picking Garlando (am I reading this wrong?)

Lol, and the 9:10 am match is... Tom Burdett v Jon May. Love it.

Lol Graeme, you're right. I'm not sure what I was reading - maybe it's been changed since I looked at it :?

Or more likely I'm a retard and read it wrong...

Having said that, it must have changed because TB was definitely scheduled to play Andreas Esterbauer but he isn't any longer.

Yeah, the opening game between Tom and Jon should be sweet.

Okay, so not only last year's world champion but also last year's runner up has pulled out of the event this year.

Yep, that's Frederic Collignon out. Unfortunately, it's due to family health issues - here's his latest facebook status update (translated)...

"Very disappointed but we have not found a solution in order to go to Nantes ... (Ingrid AND Kylian in need of respiratory physiotherapy sessions). Sorry for my partner, good luck to you."

I feel right like a sports journalist, I do.
