Post by Oatsey » Sat Dec 04, 2010 11:20 am

Is anyone thinking of going to the Hall of fame event in Vegas on 9/3 to 13/3?

REALLY UP FOR IT. Money is the only issue but i think i can solve that problem. I think Sarah fancies it as well. Do you have anymore details dave?

Would be sick to have a good group of us.

Who else?

Best one is £700 approx for a direct flight with BA staying at the tropicana which has just been refurbished and is next to the flamingo wher ethe event is.
Leaving 7/3 or 8/3 back 13/3 evening

Hi Dave,

I am sure Joe would like you to go as well for sure but in this instance he means me as last time as part of the GB team in Vegas I had an epic match against Andreas Werner only narrowly losing at the end. Had him worried though!

Hope JP's opening went well.

So thats

Rob A (definite)
MIke A (definite)
Joe H (definite)
Rich Potts (possible)
Sarah B (possible )
George E (possible)
Dave O (possible)

I assume if we all went thats enough for a GB Team (is 6 the minimum?)

Also these days can Sarah also play in the mens team or not?

We are %90 going, Norm and Louise are thinking about it too.

Dave, there won't be a team event at this tournament as its only the Kick Off Classic, not the worlds. But it would still be good to get a few of us to go.

If your going, don't book flights yet as I might be able to get a deal for all of us, for around £400-£450 each. PM me for more details.

Rob

Dave, it's a pretty good walk from Tropicana to the Flamingo. (unless they've moved them) You won't be able to run to the room between matches.

Tempting. Looks like it costs a lot though. Will think about it.

Rob, there are ways you can make it cheaper.

1). Accom is cheap anyway but you can room share/sleep on floor (in a hotel room!).

2). Play only events you care about instead of paying for a package. It could work out cheaper.

3). Don't buy $8 corona's from a club, but instead buy bottles of beer at slots of fun during happy hour. (Ask bushy or shovie about this).

4). Perhaps tone down the usual 29 pints per day you put away at a tourny.

Besides when out at a meal and a very stupid night in Pure then MGM I doubt I spent more than £20 on booze, from the little stores in the casinos it is filthy cheap and its free EVERYWHERE when you are gambling.

Joe and I stayed at the Riv and spit the room four ways (2big double beds) $22 a night. Even split two ways $44 (£27.50) is CHEAP as chips and was easily better than travel lodge quality. I'd say somewhere between travel lodge and Best Western.

If you want to play well then I agree with Joe pick about 4-6 events not the 25 you can enter. Maybe play the odd extra dyp.

Regarding point 4, ignore Joe, don't change who you are "go hard or go home".

Glad I can help Mossy

ps. cant believe Bolton are going to have the Man City Left and Right wide midfielders from 07-09.

So you can stay at the MGM splitting a room four ways for about £23 a night and it's pretty much across the road from the venue. I'm very, very tempted. I'll see how the finances are holding up on the 25th and see if I can squeeze enough out of them...

Check Google maps to make sure you are as close as you think. MGM and Tropicana are about a mile from the Flamingo. Not that bad a walk, but not across the street either.

Boys..

I hope you both make it. I am not sure Vegas is ready to see you two in action. Papa, to us Brits who normally dont have tournaments IN hotels, a mile walk seems fine. Especially if its walking past stripper coffee shops and casinos.

Seriously would be cool if you fellaz made it out! If you're yet to experience vegas... both of you... ask Sarah Bice how good it is.

Hope to see you out here!
