SPECIAL EVENT

As an undercard to this year's historic varsity match, Cambridge University is proud to present Sinistra Sundae!!!!!!!

This team of left-handed prodigies have issued an open challenge to Oxford "University" and will play a doubles match against Graeme and Nubbert before varsity begins.

These sensational southpaws are currently unranked in the BFA Garlando rankings but they should not be underestimated and the smart money is definitely on Sinistra to take home the glory!!!!!!

SINISTRA SUNDAE

Daniel "The Crafter" Greene (U)
Jack "The Sorter" Lamplugh (U)

Sinistra Sundae have some demands which must unfortunately be met:

1. The match is of the format best of 1 first to 1.

2. Sinistra Sundae will receive kick off.

3. The SPECIAL EVENT must take place BEFORE varsity begins.

I'm sorry about all these demands but I'm fairly certain that it will be worth it for the dazzling display that this chiral force will produce.........

It was a great match, thanks to Cambridge for making the unenviable X5 trip over. Well done to all the Oxford players, particularly Varsity Match debutants Ben, Lea, Chris, Mike and Stan. We led from the start and ended up with a very convincing win. Awesome performances from Ben and Mark saw them winning all their games without dropping a leg; I knew it would work playing you together, you're just such a hard team to play against. Good job by Lea beating Matt Taylor in singles. Not so good job by me losing the first leg of my singles 5-0 then scraping through with hacks and 2-bar shots to win on sweat ball... unlucky Jack you could very easily have won that.

Cambridge had clearly lost a lot of their players from last year but I was pretty impressed with the depth of your team, particularly when it came to blocking snakes. I was well and truly bricked by Matt Taylor in the doubles game we played, and struggled to spot gaps in all the games. It'll be good to see Adam and Matt playing in the Oxford tournament over Easter, I think you could do very well in the Amateur events. I remembered from last year that Adam was a good player but you've improved a lot and played some sick shots in the opening leg of that singles game. It was fortunate for us that the Nubster was drawn against you because I think you would probably have beaten everyone else in our team.

Nice. Good to see our Women's Captain beat their Men's Captain.

Lol.

That was the same for me in the last Varsity match. Matt just bricked me and scored an intriguing series of cut-back-2-bar-snakes. Me & Nub only won on sweat ball (which Matt scored for us when he went for a straight-2-bar-snake that bounced right back into his goal off my 3-bar).

Yeah, I like to save my "A" game for the men's captain. (right Jee Ha and Graeme? )

In all seriousness though, well played Oxford you thouroughly deserved your win although things weren't always as clear cut as the final score suggests. At least we doubled the number of wins we got last varsity............

Looking forward to the Oxford Open, hopefully Corrigan and I will get to give you guys a rematch!

Thanks for a great varsity and see you next year!
Always bet on Monk
