It wasn't a challege from me....
I was going to challenge you at pool, considering you possibly haven't play in  decades, but then i noticed both you and Juj were captain of the pool team or something...

Zico,

I may not be able to beat you at "Driving Theory Tests" but I think I would win at pool.   8)

Dan, 200 and 2000 may be close to a physicist, but I don't think thats what Craig means by "close".

All the best to the non-Oxford players in this tie. Oxford suck!

I was basing it on how you guys normally play! lol

well done guys, bet that hurt the old boys a little. And you did that without Paddy and Millington.

I'll post full results later... if I can be arsed. Zico recorded one of the tables so about half the games will prob appear on a set of DVDs soon. Includes footage of 2 euro-to-fakey-to-snakey's by a Mr. David Morgan and the worst defensive shooting you'll ever see by me

Had a great day yesterday - thanks to Juj and Chaz and everyone else involved in the organising.

It was good actually starting to feel comfortable on a table again, and even in defence! I have not been able to pick a gap from defence in about 7 years. Cheers to Rob for partnering me, and playing some cracking shots from attack (with no crap snakes), and although we only won one game i think there were 2 more that if we had played like we did when we had warmed up then they would have been much closer.

Sorry to everyone who wanted to buy balls for leaving without sorting it out. Email me for ordering info.

Thanks,
Richard

Great match, cheers guys for organising.

Sorry Ben (if you're reading) that we didn't win a single game!  Felt that we deserved at least one, but no matter.  Looking forward to OxOpen!

Cheers,

Tom.

Aye, cheers Rich for doing your best despite a pretty obvious lack of table time! You improved a lot game by game, and I only hit where I should have been by the fourth game we played (which we were always going to lose anyway, despite it being close in the end), and it's no surprise that the game we won was our last! Great fun - and Chaz, hope the 13 hours' worth of sleep you appeared to get were worth it, you even slept through me and Andrei getting annoyed at your table in a best of three...

We got stuffed

Post by Jujhar » Mon May 15, 2006 11:33 am

Thanks to Chaz for organising the match on his side and having everything ready.

Our lack of practice cost us dearly as we went 7-0 down.  We then kicked in coming back to something like 10-7.  But from then on, we couldn't get any more victories and there were many games that could have gone either way.  I particularly liked the oppositions' 2-bar shooting at the back wall plates to topspin the ball into the goal.  Great shooting guys!  Lol!

Hopefully next time, the current uni captain won't mess the dates up, causing some old boys/girls to miss the game  .

We got whooped, but wasn't the worst day as we won the FA Cup.  Sorry to Shovo, as I went crazy when Gerrard got his second.  But it was truly spectacular.

Thanks to everyone who turned up and well done to the current Oxford players, they played very well.

Juj

Twas a fun arvo. Loving the new balls!! Bumming Craig was particularly satisfying. Losing to Dan and El Cap's aerial slop was pretty painful though.

Nice to see some Old Boys who are actually older than me playing   , good to see that Ben has the old skills and keep working on that 2-bar snake Rich!

I'll be on the other side next year hopefully (if picked), looking forward to the match already!

I am wondering would Chaz make the old boys team next year:
Juj, JohnW, JohnB, Shovo, Andrei, Craig, DaveM, Bobby, Dan, MarkW, Tredders,
Well, only 11 old boys above him based on current rankings.
