MYC Titles

Post by Tomolo » Fri Apr 24, 2009 11:42 pm

Just for fun, and good practice, Simon and I have created some more titles to be played for at the MYC.

Mumbles Yacht Club Singles Champion (this one isn't new)
-- Tom Curtis
2nd Place - Matt Harries

Mumbles Yacht Club Doubles Champion (or this one)
-- Tom Curtis and Dave Crabb Have to play Tom Curtis and Adam (somehow)

First to 9 title (basically 1 game first to 9)
--Simon Jenkins
2nd place - Tom Curtis

"The Marathon" (first to 9 best of 3)
--Tom Curtis (title defended once)
2nd Place - Simon Jenkins

Goaly Wars (take it in turns to shoot from the back, can't use same shot twice in a row)
--Matt Haries
Second place - Cameron Loxdale

Pen Shootout (3 bar only, can't use the same shot twice in a row)
--Tom Curtis
Second Place - Simon Jenkins

Midfield Battle (Basically if you pass the ball through to your attack and control it you get a point, first to 5 best of 3)
--Simon Jenkins
Second Place - Tom Curtis

No Slow Championship (Ball isn't allowed to stop moving)
--Tom Curtis (Title Defended Once)
Second Place - Simon Jenkins

Only 2 changes of titles today.

I certainly didn't play very well so am relieved to have not lost more than the one title. The only thing which was going well for me was my five bar.

A new face to the MYC, Andy from Olchfa, has gotten to the final of the MYC doubles championship with me, to play myself and dave crabb as we are the current holders. So I think those 2 should just play each other to decide who gets the title next time as it would be pretty impossible to play myself, unless I did clone myself (good suggestion matt)

Simon successfully defended his pen shoot out title, and quite rightly so.

I bossed the midfield battle title, hopefully I wont be losing that one next time.

I lost my goaly wars title, got knocked out in the first round to cameron letting in some extremely soft goals and shooting like.... well not me.

I beat Matt 2-0 in games to retake my title as the MYC singles champ.

Look forward to see you all next time.

Tom

Same here, it's nice to be the champion of Goaly Wars but lets face it, everyone knows I'm the GOALIE!!! So to put it simply, Harries wants his title back!

See you next time.

I can't take the credit for this, it was Sarah's.

When/If we start attracting a larger crowd We'll play for 3rd place and then you can get your name up there.

Then possibly we could start a Swansea Rankings system.

Did you come second in the pen shootout then as well? Or was that Harries?

Hey Ben I'm game, dont forget you lot need to join the MYC sometime if you want to continue using the place. Also then you can come down through the long summer hols and play all day Sat and Sun if you want as the club is open from noon at the weekend.

Yeah I'll join the club after Nuneaton, would be more appropriate to use prize moneys (if I win any) for sign up fees for the MYC. Heck I've won enough out of that fruit machine to have signed up already.

Thursday sounds good to me, I don't know what time I finish work so you'll have a bit of a warm up before I get there to whip you all :P

Sounds great dude, big help for my game as I'm starting to doubt my shots from the back. Have really lost it on my rubbish table, hope it's just because of my table though.

Yeah I'm sure you're right, just need to get my confidence back up before Nuneaton.
Shame you can't come up for it though.
