I know George is working this Thursday, but I'll be there and I assume the Italian mob will be too. I'll text Jonas, EeLin said she may do this week too. I look forward to blocking your pull like usual.

I've been told to take my tables out of Liverpool this week? Are the Tornados staying at Deansgate?

Still up in the air a little Boz. Will have more info in the coming few weeks, but we've been assured the manager will help as much as he can.

Can anyone describe the new tables in detail (i.e. model, telescopic/through rods, blocky/pinny feet)

OK, first of all I have spoken with the new manager, Adam, and he assures me one Tornado table is staying. I have moved the floodlights for when we play and we've kept the new table. It will also be updated very shortly with the new men thanks to our supplier, Foos4Fun.

Secondly, the Garlandos (two) are now in. They are Master Champions from what I have been told and from what I can see - click here for image. I can confirm they are pinny feet, through rods, open-top at £1 a throw (!) for ten white balls. These will be the same tables going into most other clubs around the country. Lighting and positioning of these tables has not yet been resolved.

If they're coin-ops then they should be World Champions (the table shown in the link is a WC, not a MC).

If they've bought £200 GWCs then the BFA could soon be a few grand richer from ITSF stickers!

Yep, World Champion looks about right. They ARE Rileys-branded, by the way.

Having been to Bolton and Rileys Manchester today to take out my tables I can confirm they are World Champion in my view.
By the way how can you stand the traffic in the Manchester area ?

Boris as they are branded there are NO itsf stickers on them so i would make sure the BFA does get the credit for these as that is worth having. I am sure Farid will help given the ITSF will also make a bundle!

Ant let me know if the balls are crap as I am seeing Peter Hooker in a week or two and could educate him on the importance of the balls and get them changed potentially.

Rileys Manchester is probably the only venue I know with two WC Garlandos and a Tornado and could probably hold its own mini events with that!

A pity they went for £1 play but probably inevitable and who knows could work out depending on how they promote it .

It must represent an opportunity for the BFA to help Rileys promote the sport/game and raise public awareness I will see what can be done in that direction when i meet Peter.

I just wanted to assure that Garllando tables in Rileys are Mater Champions. AK made a mistake, for a 1 pound you get 20 balls not 10. On the other hand the balls are crap. If there is possibility they should be replaced with yellow speed balls. Although tables are brand new. They need some maintainance like oil on bars etc. Also there are a lot of dust and to play properly is almost impossible.

The Master Champion is the table we use at most Garlando tournaments in the UK, which is open-top and freeplay, with no coin mechanism.

The ITSF-style open top coin-op table is the World Champion.

20x balls is a bit of a risk, I've had problems with the ball mechanism jamming where people let it go too soon before all the balls have come out so it catches a ball full-on and won't reset properly.

It is certainly worth the bar ordering a set of the proper balls, they can keep them behind the bar for serious players paying a deposit but let the n00bs play with the cheapo balls which don't cost so much if they get nicked.

Apologies if this is the case, I never knew 20 balls was even possible.

Boz, you may wish to PM Dave Oates and have a chat about what you have in mind.

Tornado has a rotating ball release mechanism which allows a maximum of 9x balls at one time to be released. Garlando has a retaining plate and ball tray which means in theory you can have any number of balls, although in practice the number is limited by the time they have to fall. At Lancaster I have been giving 15x balls for 50p until they started jamming.
