First North Yorkshire Tornado event

Post by Bushy » Thu Jul 10, 2008 10:45 am

Introducing The Harrogate Open
Aimed at players based in the North Yorkshire Area

The Manhattan Club & Snooker Centre has just had delivery of a new Tornado table and to celebrate this we will be launching a cash price tournament!
Myself and Cotty will be hosting the event on 2 possibly 3 tornado tables throughout Saturday of the 9th of August at the Manhattan Snooker Center in Harrogate.

Venue
Manhattan Club & Snooker Centre
Beech Avenue
Harrogate
North Yorkshire
HG2 8DY
Telephone: 01423 871267

Events
OS
OD
DYP

Times / Schedule
The event will be held on Saturday the 9th of August 2008.
"I will update the date within the next day or so"

This event is aimed at locals so players need to have registered by the latest of 6.30pm with games starting at 7pm.
Additionally if there is sufficient BFA members interested we will do an all day tournament from 11AM till 6pm with multiple events and some evening events to keep you entertained including poker and entry into the DYP + more.
The reason we are not having BFA members play in the locals only evening event is because we are trying to premote the sport and thrashing them will not be productive.

Costs
All events are £3 to non BFA members and £6 to the Latter.

Transport/Accommodation
Hornbeam Park train station is 400 yards away from the venue.
There is a Travel Lodge next door to the train station.
"There is always room at the bushy residence to a specific few, you no who you are :) "
Bus services are every 20 minuets at the top of the road.

This is truly an excellent venue which the owner is VERY excited about future BFA events.Below is a list of the facilities:

- 4 Large rooms each with own bar and enough room for 20 + foos tables and seating in each one!.
- 6+ standard American and british pool takes
- 16 full size snooker tables.
- Food served throughout the day.
- Late license.
- Poker event facilities.
- Cheap Accommodation is 400 yards away.
- Train station / Bus stop is across the road.
- Town center is at the bottom of the road or 80p on the bus which arrives every 20 mins.
- Town center has 3 garlando's, 1 FAS all with magic balls.

Looked to me like you needed to call to put your name down - rather than being able to just turn up on the day.

Is that not the case?

You can turn up and call but the club is wanting people to register for the event also.
Perhaps i should put less emphasis on the pre register but i dont want people not to pre reg if you no what i mean :)

Great Poster, good luck with the comp, hopefully we can get a scene going up there.

I'll be in Leeds on business one day on the week of the 11th, I should be able to pop up to Harrogate if you fancy some games.

I like it Adam, cool poster.

I think this is the best way to get Joe Public involved.

The most successful companies adhere to two things when dealing with the general public - 1) simple & 2) easy,

You seem to have nailed this.

Great idea, Good Luck

It is on tornado but this poster is aimed at local swho barley play the game so its matters not to them. Besids i couldent fin a good macro shot of a tornado :)

I went dont to the venue tonight with cotty and we both agree its a brilliant, welcoming HUGE place! The tables only been in a week and there having foosball matches every other night. Apparatly last night there were 12+ locals playing and we have just been down there shoing the basics of brush snake so its looking really good.
We recon there will be 30+ locals at this event so all in all turning out looking good!

Mogwai if you fancy some games on monday the 11th then no worries i can be down there, cotty might come if i ask nice :)
