Match Report
25th Jan 2013
Leicester (Away)
Bad weather forecasts meant that an intrepid Band of 4 traversed the frozen tundra of the South Leicester Plains.
Paul's ancient AstralNav system kept us to the Roman Roads of the Watling Street and Fosse Way but got us there safe and sound.
The Polonez Bar is a wonderful place for Table Footers and the whole place made us most welcome thank you! They too had 4 players in their team and adopted the opposite to our strategy by focusing on the singles.
Leicester had the best of the opening exchanges racking up a 5-2 lead. It was at this point that supernatural forces came into play. The score-sheet apparently spontaneously combusted! Opposing theories blamed the table candles or a spark from one of Deg’s shots. Whatever the reason, the fightback was underway – helped further by Paul Addison’s full pint glass mystically levitating itself and smashing on the floor. Leicester were unnerved by this spasm of paranormal activity, and allowed Nuneaton to draw level on 5 games each and, thanks to a 7-0 last game, 52 goals each.
The ‘exhibition’ game at the end – using the Polonez’s heavy ‘WRECKING BALL’ was fantastic. Polonez were brilliant with it – we’ve got to get one.
Looking forward to the return match.

Re: League Match Reports
Just noticed an error in the final game as Leicester should have had a 1 goal start (1-7) hence final goal tally of 53-52 rather than 52-52.

Match Report
Friday 8th March 2013
Warwick Uni (Away)
Weather: Foggy
Beer: Long Itch Back Scatcher - Backscratcher (4.5%) – a classic premium English ale.
(A dark chestnut coloured ale made with a selection of three malts and three different hops,
the caramelised toffee flavour with a hint of coffee will have you itching for more!)
The Warwick guys made us very welcome but their hospitality didn't quite stretch to the
footy where they secured a well-deserved victory.
Warwick quickly went 3-0 up over 3 close games: 7-5 7-6 7-6
Thankfully for the Oaks Indy stepped up to the plate to reverse a worrying trend: 3-1 to Warwick.
Mark and Martyn followed up with a win for the Oaks: 3-2 to Warwick.
Warwick won the next singles, but Indi replied with his second singles win. 4-3 to Warwick.
The next 2 Doubles matches went each way with Chris and Indy (who else!) succeeding for the Oaks:
5-4 to Warwick with all to play for in the final game in which the Warwick third string avenged their earlier
loss to Mark and Martyn to close the match out 6-4.
Royal Oak Man of the Match - Indy with 3 wins from 4.
Mentioned in Despatches: Great Win from Mark and Martyn - several goals from Mark and a killer finish
from Martyn - you justified your selection!!!
Next Up: Keele at Home; Date TBA
