John,

That's right - "First Friday" obviously refers to the First Friday of the month excluding Good Fridays.

Food is now also ordered for Friday 9th.

Regards
Bill

I'll be down in 2 days! How long do the evenings usually last? I'll need to sort out some way of getting back to Cov after.

Hi all,

are you guys also going to this place (is it a pub?) during week nights, just to practise/ play? Any specific popular day?
In a few week I'll be coming to Hinckley (work related) for a week, and I'd like to check out your tables :) But ofcourse, it would be nice to play against someone who can teach me some basic moves/ shots ofcourse. I'm from Belgium, so I'm used to play on wooden tables -> read: I can't even do a proper snake ;)

Take care & keep the kicker (foosball) spirit alive! 8)

Wouter

It's Fridays only. The tables are there in the week, but there won't be players.

If you want games in the week, you can post here and a few of the players who live locally may be able to pop in for a few games.

Something to discuss this Friday:

It's the Warwick Open starting the first Friday in May.... So are we going to play the DYP over there? If so do we move food and competition night to the 2nd Friday in May or.... my preference would be to have a competition night on the last friday in April (for a good practice night.

I'm going this Friday,

Not too bothered about the match as I wasted 90mins of my life on England last week.

I'm 50/50 now,

Is anyone else going or are others planning on staying in and watching the game at home?

We are planning to come and to be in time for the start of the england match but we will probably miss the first few minutes i'd expect we will be there between 7:30 and 8. But we will bail out if the concensus on this tread points to many people not coming.

Sadly Friday saw the last regular appearance of Herr Worthington at the Royal Oak - Happily he has left us with a future recipe for success - It involves a free table, and an excess of scotch eggs. I shall leave others to fill in the details but I think John lost the first game of Foodball 1-0 to a well placed pull kick from the Hand of Doom. And they were only on the second replacement match ball. The offending food item even managed to find its way through most of the ball return!

We shall miss the banter JW see you again soon we hope.

Sorry to see you go John,

Had some great games, very, very funny banter.

I can't believe you have given up The Royal Oak for a bloody woman!

Don't leave it too long.

We'll really miss John - he's managed an amazing "record of attendance" over the last 7 years. Most importantly, John has combined a superb sporting approach to the game with a unique playing style and I'd like to think that the Nuneaton Chapter has had some influence on this.

Good luck Up North, mate, and look forward to seeing you soon.

Regards
HoD

I will miss everyone. Second only to my family, the Nuneaton guys (and gals) were my main reason to be in the Midlands.

From the Chetwynd, the Holywell, the Boro Ground and then the Royal Oak, I think I managed to enjoy this time more than the days back in Oxford learning the beautiful game.

RIP my foosball career. I will miss my Friday night retreat.
