Warwick A vs Chetwynd 2nd leg

Post by Teeb » Fri Oct 20, 2006 1:40 am

Warwick A 7 (9) Chetwynd 1 (7)

Cracking game. Results:

Tom Burdett vs Chris Haddon : 5-4 5-1
Dan Kingston vs Bill Ormerod : 3-5 5-0 5-2
Tom Hampson vs Paddy Dunleavy : 5-4 3-5 5-0
Steve Lyall vs Scott Wolding : 5-3 5-4

Tom B & Dan vs Derek & Bill : 5-3 5-4
Tom H & Steve vs Chris & Paddy: 5-3 5-3
Tom H & Steve vs Derek & Bill: 4-5 4-5
Tom B & Dan vs Chris & Paddy: 5-0 5-4

Awesome game. Chetwynd guys are one of the most fun teams to play against. It would be great to play in a less serious game so we can thoroughly enjoy it without the pressure and possibly with a bit more drinking.

The scores speak for themselves - Well done Warwick you handled the pressure of coming from 2-6 down (after the first leg) exceptionally well.

Good luck in the final.

Thanks for the great games guys.

Due to the first leg result, the night was inevitably extremely tense throughout, and we were certainly pushed all the way to get the result we needed - the win wasn't achieved until the very last game.

As Tom has alreaady said, you guys are always great fun to play against, hopefully next time it will be in more relaxed circumstances!

Paddy - nice tats as always

Thanks for a great semi-final lads. You thoroughly deserved it and it was a terrific match. We have always found that the Warwick teams always play the game in the right manner and good luck in the final! I am sure your secret weapon will completely fool the Bush.

I am sure we can arrange some more relaxed fixtures later in the year. Perhaps some A and B team trials for next season. John Worthington is desperate to qualify for our B team.
