Cambridge would probably be interested too, if we could get transport sorted. We'd be very keen if u could come to us - the return leg would be harder but I'll see who might be interested.

I should probably add that the Oxford team will also be looking for games. Maybe a BFA team league would be a possibility?

I'm proud to say that i can anounce the first Barrels DYP.

Tuesday 18th October,

Free to enter with a small cash prize.

Register @7.30 play starts @7.45.

We are expecting around 8-12 regulars

I would really like to see a few BFA members there. I understand its probably unlikely but would be great nevertheless.

If you are interested and need directions just post on here and i will PM them to you.

Are Matt and Clegg going to be there? If so I would recommend people go just to watch these guys! They don't come to tournaments, but play the "Geoff Brice" style as well as I've seen it played. Non of that "pinning the ball" malarky.

I'm sure that the last time that Matt (or was it Clegg) destroyed me he was shooting a snake.

Cheers,
Rhys

Matt and Clegg will both be there. Matt Cockburn returned to the UK ealry this morning from his world travels.
Are any of the Chetwynd guys up for it?
Surely the Slag Amsden will be making an appearance.
If you have any questions or interest post in here, its likely that if you have a question someone else will have a similar one.

Result of the first Barrels Seeded DYP. With prize money.

Table was on freeplay. Due to lack of advertising turn out was low.

1st Matt Cockburn and Paul Sautes

2nd Sarah Brice and Hungarian Jon

3rd Clegg Tassel and Hungarian Jon's Girl friend.

4th Dan (Spanner) Grice and Kevin

The winners each received £20. The prize money will be greater with higher attendance. I will be at the next one along with Hugo, Geoff Brice and Will Watkins. Prize money expected to be £30 each for the winners.

The pub gives roughly £5 a head towards the prize money due to increased takings. If the numbers get much higher than 10 it will be £4 a head. But this is a riugh guide. It was there idea. We could harldy say no.

Have been busy today talking to the manager. In the new year we are planning to host a pub olympics, it will include darts, pool, foos, coits and skittles. There will be about 60 odd spaces 40 reserved for locals 20 open. I will let you know more as it developes but does that interest any one.

You should add arm-wrestling to that.

Where is "The Barrels"?

We could combine a Word-Up bumming with a Pub-Game bumming.

I'll lay down a challenge right now... pool, foos, darts.  If anyone on here (including the "publympic champions") can beat me at any 2 of those I'll eat my hat.   8)
