Who is going to be around in Oxford this coming year?  Louise and I would love to get involved again from time to time.  I hope all of the third years made the right choice and picked a suitable masters or Dphil to extend their time in this glorious city.

I'm here too.

Would be lovely to see you and Louise again Mark!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if people who want to play for the Temple bar have been in touch with the team members. We already have a couple of extras in addition to our team last year (not including those mentioned on this page)...so we must be getting rather huge.

I had an email from Mark Newson who is not going to be captain of the Duke anymore...this may effect whether the Duke team continues or not...they may need players (and captain) to keep the team going. It would be a shame if this pub team dissolved (especially as it would be largely due to players now playing for the Temple bar instead). John B - do you know the latest?

I should be around tomorrow night.

About the Duke, I've heard about it from naeem, if they drop out the league will lose both a sponsor, as well as a very fun team to play against.

All because of the increasing amount of Tonadoees   as well as that the Duke's table having really really bad eggie balls.

Temple can of course have 2 teams, but that might defeat the point of ppl wanting to play foos with their mates.  Although I cant see half of you going over to play at the Duke.

Hmm... lets see what the temple team look like this yea...

Dave C - can you confirm all the names of the Temple team from last year?

Others I can think of...Emma Carter, various of Dave's friends (can't remember all the names sorry!).

As far as I know Dave M and another Christ Church member expressed an interest in playing for the Temple a while back.

Zico - I wasn't suggesting that present members of the temple team go and play for the duke.

I agree that it would be a real shame for the duke to dissolve. The balls are a small matter. Match balls can easily be used. And the handles could be changed (I have spares). Another possibility would be that if the team dissolves, the table may also go from the Duke, meaning that we lose another location. Grizz originally only put the table back in the pub for the team.

Last year's team:

DaveC
Alex Rapp
Chris Eskiw
Cath Brown
John Worthington
Stumpy
Pete Ganderton
Leigh Hopkins
Kieran Finan.

Hope I didn't forget anyone.
Even with 9 people it was usually a struggle to find 6 who could play on any given day.

I'm still in two minds whether to bother putting a temple team in this year. It would be a real shame not to because we're in the first division.
it's a question of getting enough people really, as many of last year's team will be moving on.

e.g. Worthers keeps threatening to move to birmingham, or something.
Stumpy is on a foos sabatical.
Pete is always working.
Chris and Leigh are more into their snooker these days.
Etc.

Who would actually be willing to join the team, for defo?
So far confirmed players are:
Dave M
Me
Cath
Alex Rapp

If I can get a list of 8-10 players who are willing to play regularly for the temple, then I'll put a team in. Or if anyone else wants to take over the temple team then you're welcome to do so.
Who wants to play?

I'd be interested.  I don't know anyone in Trinity any more, and I'd rather get some good games at 3rd pair than keep losing at 1st.   :(

Tom King (ex-ChCh) is a definite too. I'll give him a bell and see if he can pop down tomorrow. I'll can only come down for an hour or so tomorrow though.

Will temple be putting a side in national league? rather than answer now, have a chat on wednesday night and see what you think, seems like you have easily enough for 2 teams.

Zico will OUTFC be putting a team in?
