Venue Listings - please tell us about new or dead venues

Post by Boris » Thu Feb 22, 2007 6:14 pm

A full list of venues appears on the BFA venue listings page:
http://www.britfoos.com/WhereToPlay/Locations.php

However most of these listings are at least 5 years old, and probably well over 50% will no longer have tables.  If you are thinking of visiting a venue please ring in advance to avoid disappointment.

Please check the venue listings in your area and using this thread let us know about any new venues, dead venues (no longer has a table etc), changes of name or details etc.

This will allow the venue listings to be kept more up to date.

Tip - If you want to find out about new venues the best way is to find out who operates pool tables/jukeboxes/bandits in your local pubs (usually the operator has a sticker with a phone number) and give them a ring to ask if they have any footie tables on site locally where you can play.

If you can add them to http://www.britfoos.com/node/add/venue then we can get them on the Google map.

They're all there, it's just the 3rd one is almost hidden behind the 2nd until you scroll in as they're pretty close to each other!

hey,i'm afraid that after two threats of physical violence and the theft of the balls in a third venue i've had to remove the tables....i've got to say it was embarassing watching grown men spinning for england and then getting more and more agressive as i continued to unload the full arsenal....one idiot was even stupid enough to try and turn the table over by himself after i butchered him....he got half way then dropped it....i had to laugh as he staggered off to get a truss fitted....so it's on to plan b...stay tuned....the tortoise

What's Plan B?

Perhaps it would have been better to let them have the odd goal?

hey jon, since you ask plan b is similar to plan a.......firstly i donate freeplay tables to my local youth clubs and to a couple of youth clubs in scotland....secondly i carefully select venues for coin operated tables[this is where plan a and b differ in that i wasn't careful enough in my original selection of venues].revenue from the coin ops goes back into buying more freeplay tables to donate to other worthy institutions across the country....thirdly i organise an international youth tournament, with the winners taking home a customised table for their club and all the other teams receiving something....fourthly i organise an invitational event for the top pros with decent prize money on offer....obviously this may take a little while to happen.however as this is not a money making exercise but more of a social experiment and as i have lots of freetime there's no pressure on me to succeed, although i'm sure i will anyway.....as far as letting people score against me....well my niece is five and i don't let her do it,and she's not spinning like a maniac either....but i'll tell you what if i ever play you i'll let you knock a couple in for nowt if you like!....stay tuned and float on!....the tortoise

Hello you lucky East Anglians and in particular those who live in Cambridge. There is now a Bonzini table with ITSF men and 9 ITSF balls for the princly sum of 50p. The location is a great new brew pub on King st called, imaginatively, The Cambridge Brew House.

When I left it it was in pride of place as you walk in and I am told it will have a dedicated light source asap. So no excuse for being rubbish on the table that seperates the men from the boys

Have fun.

Josh
