Cambridge vs Peterborough, 27th November, Final Results

Post by Jonathan may » Mon Nov 28, 2005 7:09 pm

A Peterborough team weakened by a few absentees found themselves slightly outclassed by an almost full-strength Cambridge team. Final score Cambridge 18-2 Peterborough. The return leg may be sometime in January or early February. Despite the score there were some close games in there. Thanks a lot to the Peterborough guys for taking the trouble to travel down and give us a few games - it was much appreciated and we enjoyed having you here. See you at the return leg!

Cambridge:

1. Andrei Russell-Gebbett & Toby Wood
2. Jon May & Mayya Racy
3. Steve McAuley & Rajmund Futar
4. Neil Morrison & Clemens Huber
5. Chris Roberts & Beltran Borja Fiz Pontiveros

Peterborough:

1. Pete & Lee
2. Ross & Maz
3. Claudio & Matt
4. Steve & Paul

         P1    P2    P3     P4
C1     9-2   9-2   9-5   9-6
C2     9-0   9-5   9-5   9-7
C3     9-1   9-1   7-9   2-9
C4     9-2   9-3   9-5   9-6
C5     9-5   9-1   9-4   9-3

Which gives:

Cambridge:                                                 P  W  L   GD

Chris Roberts & Beltran Borja Fiz Pontiveros   4  4  0  +23
Andrei Russell-Gebbett & Toby Wood              4  4  0  +21
Neil Morrison & Clemens Huber                      4  4  0  +20
Jon May & Mayya Racy                                  4  4  0  +19
Steve McAuley & Rajmund Futar                     4  2  2   +7

Peterborough:          P  W  L   GD

Steve & Paul           5  1  4   -7
Claudio & Matt         5  1  4  -16
Ross & Maz             5  0  5  -33
Pete & Lee             5  0  5  -35

And a final score of Cambridge 18-2 Peterborough.

By the look of the results, this has got to be the understatement of the year.

Would that be Steve "the undisputed table football world champion" from those other threads?

Looks like he might want to have a quick re-think...

Not when you realise that 'found themselves slightly outclassed' is an anagram of 'all got themselves such soundly fisted' :P

Congrats to Cambridge. Looking forward to playing you next term, seems like it should be a good match.
