Garlando Press Release

Post by Boris » Fri Jul 02, 2010 12:51 pm

Garlando wrote: Official release

Pozzolo Formigaro, 1st July 2010

In order to answer the several questions we are getting from players and their associations, to
clarify doubts and stop rumours on our balls and football tables, we wish to inform as follows:
1) The development process on our ITSF ball Speed Play has been concluded. No further
modifications will be introduced.

2) Upon a request of ITSF and TFBÖ, Garlando is now working on the High Control ball.
Following the suggestions of Wolfgang Reszler, spokeperson for this matter for TFBO and
ITSF, we have introduced modifications to the ball surface to make it less rough.

3) A few samples of this modfied ball have been sent to TFBO for testing.

4) If the test results turn up to be satisfactory, Garlando will consider modifying the ball
diameter.

5) Further information on the High Control ball development will be given directly by
Garlando as soon as available.

6) No modications of any sort will be made to our ITSF football table World Champion. The
World champion version which will go on being used for all tournaments is the one
released in 2007 and currely on sale.

The Management.

I got my first experience of the "Speed-Eggs" at Warwick.

Thank god they are working on something new, but that said they really need to get it right and stop messing about with the balls.

So they are not changing the existing ball but developing a new one. Run that by me one more time...

yes they obv dont want to admit the old baLL IS CRAP . However lets face it the new ball could not possibly be any worse especially if Wolfgang is testing it so when its perfected they will then change it for ITSF as well.

I wonder if the new ball will be tested by any pull-shooters.

C'mon Garlando Management,

Can't you get anything right?

I've never played with the new speed ball so I can't comment. But I use Barenhertz's magic ball regularly and find it suits Garlando very well. It lasts relatively long as is fairly resistant to denting and becoming lop-sided. The only complaint of them that I can give is that once you clean them, they become slippery all over again (like they are when you first use them as new - until that 'glaze' wears off). Why didn't they just stick to the magic balls for ITSF play?

Those balls we had at Walsall were pretty good. Can't we go back to those?

I think I have the last known bag in existence of original "Walsall Eggs"

I will open them on maybe the 20th anniversary of that event...

Maybe they get better with age like a Chinese "century egg". Try burying one in ash for several months and see if it gets better.
