ATTENDANCE AT THE FOOSROOM WILL NOW BE FREE.

We are keen to encourage new players from all over the South West to attend, and to do so we want to remove any barriers they might face. Therefore for a few months (at least - it's a trial after all!), we are making the Foosroom completely free to attend during our regular sessions.

We would like to build a large community of regular players - so please share this post and information about the Foosroom as widely as possible so we can get new players along.

Regards,

Alex, Jon and Ben

Hey Guys,

Just a thought... If you want me to create a "Bristol Foosroom" league ladder like this: http://www.ltfc.info/standings.php?lid=15 - pls let me know... You can have ELO or EXP or even both if you wanted two ladders. It can work for teams but I havn't tried it yet... Just singles for now... It works on a smarphone to record matches and one you have done it a few times it takes less than 30 secs. All free of course to fit in with your "FREE Every Thurs & Mon". Happy New Year Britol Foosroom! Wishing you lots of new blood in 2013.

Popped up the foos room last night for some garlando action, good to see afew people there. My game was not great and got hammered by Alex on the 5 bar! Good to see Nick there who is quite good.

Then popped down to the ETON bar in Town to check out Josh,s tornado he has just placed there.

I must say the light makes it stand out and really look appealling . Its basically the one man ITSF tornado from the crown so an ok table. £1 play but we had some good games. Obviously the best (and only) place to play Tornado in bristol!

No Oates at the foosroom.
Briceless - taking names and...
KGB Alex - Hitting the ball like a pansey
Me - Jagerbombing (not in a good way)
Shovie - went home early, some excuse about Mrs (Oh yeah hit some "average" "longish" pull shots).
Sorry buddy can't remember your name after one more sleepless, blah blah bla.. (never have children) - sweet shooting.
Brice's pard - Wild man! Nice tunes too.

Quite liked the way the Libero plays, first real go on a german table.
What have you done to the Zini? it is the least bonzo like table I have ever touched. And I've touched a few...
Mase I baught you a bag of £1's. I'll just have to carry themn round til Liverpoo

Note to self - visit the Foosrooms more often

Someone bought the Libero...? I thought it cost like EUR3,000 or something? Did they give it to you on the cheap?

The foos room WILL be open tomorrow night but with a potentially earlier finish. Normal opening time of 7.30, but I have to leave at 9.30 at the latest.

I was unable to make it to the DYP on Thursday but we had 11 players, most of them new, including an 11 year old lad who Mase assures me is the next Rob Atha.

Remember, we're there Mondays and Thursday and it's free!

The DYP was absolutely fantastic with 6 new players of mixed ability but all had played good amounts of table time before.

This 11 year old has the gift. He was easily the best player and picked things up real quick. Before we saw anyone play Alex Z, Nick W and I all agreed to play with the beginners to make it a bit more even.

I drew the kid and he was so excited to play it was obvious he was keen. We built him a little step to make him the right height and he was fantastic.

Quick run down as to why he will be next Rob Atha

- He had never seen the snake, within three shots on him and no advice he instantly understood how to block it and drifted into a Dave B style bait and move defence.
- He could shoot from the back but took a time out when he had the ball and convo went like this.
"Ben am I allowed to pass it to you"
"yeah but dont worry, just enjoy it and shoot"
"nah, if I pass you will score"
"ok but dont worry"
"IF I PASS CAN YOU CATCH"
"yep"
He calls time in and drills it down far wall. This was in the very first game we had of the night. He then proceeded to throw in pass amongst shots on Garlando, FB and Bonzini.
- Got to grips with shooting a front pin straight away on both FB and Gar.
- Was shooting long squared of push kicks on Bonzini.
- He'd never played on any of these tables but took to them all straight away.

It was scary, how fast he picked stuff up. With a few sessions at foosroom and time with us guys he will easily be good enough to win AS and AD. He is 12 this year and is a genuine chance to be a super junior.

Cant wait for Alex S and Jon M see him play and help his learning.
