Any interest in Plymouth Exeter area?

Hi All,

I've just posted for the first time in the Friendship Forum and am after info on regular play and the odd tournament.

What I'd really like to know is whether or not I could play other keen players in the Plymouth or Exeter area.

I would be just a little bit excited ( ) to discover other players here!

Tim

I'm new at Exeter Uni. Doesn't seem to be much going on - no society or anything but there are a few tables around. I'm always up for a game or organising competitions if there was interest.

I live in the Plymouth area and would love to help get a tournament started.

I'm not too sure if any pubs in the local area have a table apart from Shake Away in the City Centre.

Do you know of a pub that has a table?

Have you tried your Rileys? Ours has 2 in Exeter.

Hi,

I live in Exeter and would be interested in meeting up for some foos (Rileys sounds good).

I should warn you I'm quite rusty as I haven't played since leaving uni (6 years ago) but am looking forward to improving fast.

Noting that this thread goes back some time, I suggest private-messaging the other contributors to it if you want to get a meet together.

Hi Spaniel,

I understand it is a long way but if your are interested we play twice a week in Bristol. A tuesday and thursday night.

Both venues get a reasonable turn out and are on good tables.

Please reply if you want to know more. It is only 1 hour 15 each way and might be something you consider once a month. We have a few people who travel, Chris Lyall comes from Gloucester which is 35 mins each way (allowing for crossing town which you wont have to). Ben Leahy used to attend regularly and he travelled from Reading.

Regards,

Ben Mason

Thanks for the replies.

Travelling to Bristol sounds tempting but would be difficult as I would have to use public transport, although I will try and make a trip in the future. Anyway I need a few warm up games so I don’t get totally crushed, lol.

For now I will try and find some local action and also pm the above posters.
