SEVEN YEARS AT THE BUSH - Player debuts

Post by Martyn » Tue Feb 27, 2007 8:00 pm

Bush Debuts – Players making their first Thursday night appearances at the Mighty One.

Trawling through the most popular thread on Britfoos brought back memories of players making the trip to see us in Bristol. After meeting them for the first time, lot's of them have become friends. The Bush thread went back even further, but was lost due to technical difficulties, but I know the following players also made the trip to the shrine, dates unknown:

Ash
Boris Atha: The man we owe it all to for it's discovery way back when.
Rob Atha
Ed Boulton
Robert Chandler (Romania)
Jude Fitzgerald
Naeem Kaka
Mayya Racy
Sanjay
Chris Stevenson
Tich
John "El Cap" Worthington
Zico Yung

Quite a roll of honour. All these players have visited us, but I have NOT counted the players who have played in our two national tournaments.

If I have forgotten anyone, or the dates are wrong etc etc, please PM me.

Question arising. Some players seemed to have dropped off the scene, good players and players with potential as well. I hope they return to the tournament scene and trust they haven’t found anything better to do with there lives. After all, what could possibly replace foos?.

Ed Boulton?!

What about Ed Boulton I say!
I hated every minute of training, but I said "Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion."

DaveZ - tell me what page you're on as I can't find you, or give me a date. Did you really come up for a Thursday night?.

Hamster - you're quite right. I was there when Ed (Beauty & the Geek) visited us. He was either so insignificant that I/we didn't do a write up, OR I was away, OR he was so cool that words wouldn't have done him or his play justice. Or maybe we all dreamt him being there?.

DaveZ - Put it right then!! I will bring eat me/keep me bananas, just let me know when you're coming.  :)

I was there too! It would have been early 2004, the same time as Fotherz and the Carters.

I remember JW's appearance. I was there. He only brought one wrap, insisted on playing up front, and then proceeded to wrap the five bar.

Anyone remember this one too?

Bobby Moss walks in, he's standing just behind the table with his pint and no-one has even noticed him yet and .... plop. The ball lands squarely in the middle of his pint. Honourable to the last he downs it.

Btw Martyn, can't remember when but I brought Mayya Racy along one time when she missed her train and thought ah well I might as well!

Haha! Funniest entrance ever. I think he won an Easter egg for his troubles though.

Well, DO I EVER REMEMBER THIS.

As Bobby will tell you, it was ME, with an amazing snake shot (obv) that was luckily blocked by some random keeper, soared into the air, and landed squarely into Bobbys drink.  :D  It was full, lager I remember, he'd only just got it at the bar! It was hilarious, everyone (and there were loads of us) who were watching creased themselves, even Herr Moss himself.

Bobby and I then drew each other in the DYP - it was Easter time and I brought in 2 largeish eggs for the winners, two cadburys creme eggs for the runners up.  WE THEN WON - and Bobby tells me he still has the base of his egg as a trophy!!  8)

Jon - Mayya added.

Dave - One of your alter ego's deleted.

Weird, I did almost exactly the same to Bobby at the temple!!

...except it hit the side of the glass and it smashed...

Must be a Mossy thing.

As you may recall I was the one who discovered the Bush in the first place - and visited it before any of you lot did - before telling you all about it when I found it had a Tornado  .

Indeed. We all owe you, Boz - not sure where we'd be now if your foos nose wasn't working, maybe we'd have discovered it ourselves eventually, but probably not. Thanks mate, thread edited to reflect.
