The Bar in the Barn: BARRS COURT INN

Post by Famous Al » Mon Nov 28, 2005 11:15 pm

After many years, foosball has returned to the Barrs Court Barn, Bristol.  :D

Last night (Sun) an informal event was held with an early start of 6.00 PM. It was free to enter and the management covered the cost of all the games.

Six teams took part and several others arrived later to continue play after the competition finished. All seemed keen to take part in any future events.

Matches consisted of first to five best of three and the winners of the most matches (with 5 wins) received a bottle of wine.

It's hoped to do something more structured next week, starting a bit later, maybe with small entry fees and some sponsorship.

A good time was had by all with some close, competetive, matches with regular cries of "meat ball"!

This week(Sunday 4th) the vote was for singles.

It was decided to keep to free entry until new posters are put up. All games were paid for by the Barn's sister venue - the very interesting Central Chambers  8)

Local players and management are not against the idea of good players turning up. The more the merrier and they are up for the challenge!

For anyone taking part, there's the added interest that these weekly events will be funded entirely by money Shovo has stuffed into ladies G strings!

I think Mark would have been a little let down if we'd have spent his stag night in a pub playing foos

Martyn asked:
Who's that girl?
As you've probably guessed ( as she carried me to a win  :) ) Jude is a good defender, scoring several goals from the back.

If you're looking for a mixed doubles partner you'll probably have to fight Joe for her as he's already been spotted buttering up her Dad
