How did the night go down with respect to the new landlord?
Any feedback?

Hi Dave

Well he introduced himself during the night - seemed a nice guy and said we should talk later although he was not around when we left.

Hopefully we will get a chance to talk with him next week.

Fair enough. It'd be interesting to see what his plans are, if any, for the Bush and the table.

Ben spoke about coming down sometime in the near future so I'll mention it to him again tonight and see what he thinks.

Bit late now, but no-one went, hope you didn't come over for nothing.

It was only going to be me and rob so we decided not to go. Have been out and unable to get to a computer till now.

I think we need to call in the troops
Well the horn must have had a frog in it cos it was only me there!

When the bush can't put four players together it might be time for us to hang up our wraps and and call time on foos.

It has become problematic for me and Alex to go on thursdays, as we have 5 a side football that day.

Mase has joined a cricket team, so finds it hard to come thursdays too, as he has nets on thursdays I think.

It sucks, but I think the bush is gona struggle to get peeps.  Martyn, are you not able to play on a tuesday instead at the crown, I reckon we've got more chance of getting people (the normal regulars*) there.  (Myself and Alex would be able to make that more than the bush).

*The way things are at the moment I think we will get the odd rookie every blue moon, but we have to accept that the current way we do things won't get us many new players.

I don't see me playing at the Crown to be a solution, I believe it's part of the problem, that is to say splitting the already beleagured local player base equals diluted turnouts to both establishments. (dz moment, sorry). We all know UK foosball is going through an quiet time at present, plus it's the holiday season and don't forget the credit crunch, all contributory factors, there are probably more. Switching days may be a temporary fix, but for example, cricket seasons end, 5 a side leagues often change etc, so trying to keep consistency in our foos venues is, I believe, very important. I'm just quoting those as Joe did, we all know the real trick is attracting new players to both these and all UK venues. I can remember when I came back into foos about reading about the Grange in London with it's multiple tables all getting regularly used. I can also remember countless cries for the Bush to get 2 tables when times were good.

Ben, it's a great shame you made the trip for nothing, we've always called you our adopted Bushman. I am on holiday as I write, Dave O is too, and I suspect had you gone to either venue this week, you may well have been on your own. Thanks for coming mate, would have been great to see you as always. It's vital, especially in this quiet time of foosball that you or anyone else read this thread before making the trip to ensure you'll get a game.
