Annual General Meeting the clue is in the name.
It has been 18 months since we have had one.
I along with other members have being requesting the secretary to announce one for sometime now.
Could the Committee deal with this matter expediently.

THE AGM IS LONG OVERDUE. IF ALL THE MEMBERS HAVE AGREED TO HAVE ONE THERE IS
NOTHING THE COMMITEE CAN DO. WE ARE TRYING TO MOVE THINGS FORWARD. GET WITH
THE PROGRAM OR SHUT UP. WE ARE WELL WITHIN OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.
FOR TOO LONG CERTAIN PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SUITING THEMSELVES. GET WITH THE PROGRAM OR LET SERIOUS PLAYERS GET ON WITH IT. THANK YOU.

does all the commmitee not have to agree on an A.G.M.? otherwise its an E.G.M . if you don't give ample notice and a proper venue, its going to fall apart. it must be done by the book.
I have no intrest in going to France at this time, and wish the irish team good luck. Don't eat in the tex-mex place!

To all members
I note that Colm Bolgers post was not personal and did not name any indivudal.
Yet Norman the President of the IFA posted a personal attack on Colm.
I feel compelled to voice my opinion regarding this matter.
The very fact that the man who holds the highest office deemed it necessary to reply in the context that he did can only be regarded as bringing the OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT INTO DISREPUTE.
It is a disgrace that the IFA is washing it's dirty linen on a PUBLIC FORUM provided by the good graces of the BFA.
Colm Bolger is one of the most consistent attendees at any foos event in Ireland.
The guy has a passion and a commitment to foosball that can only be admired.
He is also the most improved player over the last year having purchased a Tornado and practices on a regular basis.
Colm's improvement is not just my opinion but the opinion of a few of the regular players.
It is very wrong for Colm to be castigated on a public forum by Norman.
Colm traveled to Nantes with what would be normally regarded as sufficient funds for such a trip his only error was that he did not secure a booking in advance.
Nor was he aware that at such short notice premium rates are applied this is what depleted Colms funds and he was open and honest regarding his predicament.
And at least he won his two games against Norway.
I am one of the two fellow team members that assisted Colm and was promptly reimbursed on our return to Ireland.
Regarding the AGM called by the treasurer I am of the opinion that the proposed should stand.
The committee should not have have allowed this period over 18 months to pass without an AGM.
I along with other members have requested verbally and on this forum.
The statement that we must find a date to suit all is a practical impossibility
The proposed venue for the AGM is not a members only club.
The complex includes a deli with a large dining area and an internet cafe open to the PUBLIC.
Tuesday nights have being traditionally regarded as foos nites so I fail to see a problem there.
We should be embracing such venues not alienating them there are few enough as it is.
Further to this the venue owner has offered to sponsor a bi monthly DYP to the amount of €200 per competition and provide refreshments and snacks to all who compete.
What has the current committee done to promote and develop foos in Ireland as far as I can assertain the answer is nothing.
Why we cannot unite and move forward and progress with attracting a new generation of foos players in Ireland it seems to be the logical next step.
To deal with any conflict of interest that may arise I own the table in the Voodoo and the tables would be set on freeplay for any DYP.
I have along with Des O Rourke purchased three of the five ITSF approved tables for the benefit of the Irish Team.
I also brought Ryan Moore to help all irish foosers raise the standard of our game.
I did that as our two top players do not practice or play with the majority of the foosers in Ireland and seem to prefer to play in the the sanctuary of their home with a select few.
That is their personal choice.
There are many more issues I could raise.
Lets have this long overdue AGM and move on PLEASE

HI Norm
Lets not be pedantic and I did point out that is your choice.
I respect every persons freedom of choice.
So there was no need for the sarcastic reply.
I note you failed to address the other issues you raised in my post.

Hi Norm
I would have thought the problem is very obvious.
Establish the facts.
And as a member of the IFA I am embarrassed that the IFA PRESIDENT insists on further demeaning the OFFICE of PRESIDENT.
Establish the facts regarding Colm.

Normal, That was a personal attack on me and I want an apology.
I want a public apology posted here. I have more money than you will
ever have. Dont forget me and Norbit Slaughered you and lou in the only
half decent comp. in this country in recent years.
If you are not prepared to do that you are obviously not mature enough to
be president. I dont think many people will vote for you after showing
your true colours. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND GROW UP.

Re: IFA Annual General Meeting 2009
That's ok brian we all know and understand why the A.G.M. is cancelled for today. Our thoughs
are with Dermot's sister's and friends on this very solemn occasion.
About the A.G.M. It would be a good idea to have it in a central location where there
is free parking. So nobody get's clamped. A hotel foyer where it is quite and we can
all actually hear what the person speaking is saying this time would be ideal. So if any of
the members could come up with a suitable suggestion that would be very much
appreciated. It looks like the A.G.M. will be in Dec. now so again there is plenty of
time to sort all this out democratically.

Re: IFA Annual General Meeting 2009
For the Attention of the Committee
Could the committee please inform the membership on the new date for the OVERDUE AGM and also advise the membership what is the criteria regarding the minimum notice required regarding calling a new AGM.
Does the constitution have a provision for an AGM to be cancelled and re-scheduled.
It is imperative that a new date be announced and not simply cancelled without a new date been proposed given that the committee and the membership have been aware for at least two weeks that the AGM was to be postponed/cancelled and this delay would appear to be unnecessary.
I am sure everybody understands and agrees with the compassionate grounds for cancelling the AGM but would a simple notice postponing the AGM have been the most efficient way of dealing with this issue.
