Table Football/Foosball/Baby-Foot requires many different forms of skills as well as mental strength. Practice makes perfect, and you can only improve by playing with more experienced foosballers. Why is this? At each match -challenge you learn the opponent’s techniques and have to integrate them into your game. Until you do so, you will just keep getting beaten, because they know something you don't. There is no other way but to progress technically...

"By taking lessons you save hundreds of hours of practising, by learning how to execute proven competition and tournaments techniques from the start and get results instantly."

Be introduced to the codex of shots & passes and will be able to score goals at a higher rate with controlled skill. Discover how to use the magic “stick angle” the pros use when passing and catching the ball. Learn the necessary body stance - set-up which make your shots crisp & quick. Improve dramatically your game all round by learning directly from a member of the Great-Britain National Team participating in International Table Soccer Federation World Cup events.

Sounds pretty good for 8 pounds, but how much can I take away from this as an advanced player?

It's not aimed at advanced players.

I adore the phrase "the codex of shots and passes" and can't wait to use it.
Apostrophes never make plurals.Incorrect:Table's,Garlando's,DVD's,1900's.Correct:Tables,Garlandos,DVDs,1900s.

Dave is correct - these groups coaching sessions are aimed at completely new players through to players who haven't been to tournaments before or are at novice/amateur tournament-standard.

The one on one coaching sessions, which either myself or Mike are available to do, are aimed at anyone up to UK Pro Master standard and are serious about improving their tournament game.

London Table Football Centre Sports Academy
“ITSF Official Training Centre”

London Table Football Centre has for objective to change the public perception table football is only a bar game and transform it into a recognised indoor sport. Thanks to the phenomenal progression of the International Table Soccer Federation over the past few years the ITSF World Cup 2011 is now LIVE on Eurosport 2.
The National tournaments organized by the BFA have created a pool of players capable of competing at a world class level. The LTFC has the benefit of being a dedicated table football venue now makes it possible to share the knowledge through the ITSF official training centre facility.

Two national team members will be providing group and private training sessions:

Steve Llyall - 2hr Group Training Session - £8 Tuesday every 2 weeks (see schedule below)
Mike Amsden - 1hr Private Training Session (max 2 players) - Tuesdays – advance booking only

The academy’s mission is to promote “old game, new sport” and assist players to improve their game and develop their skills and match strategy. The Academy has for objective to save players 100 hrs of un-focused practice, and short cut the learning process by teaching and executing proven tournament techniques in defense, attack, passing and ball control.

The London Table Football Centre will sponsor the first two sessions of the Sports Academy in February so the maximum number of enthusiastic players can benefit from this new service. At the end of month a number of players will be short listed to represent the LTFC Sports Academy as resident members. Resident Sports Members will be elected by the Academy board , end of March and expected to participate in two national and one international tournament per year. (LTFC will seek sponsors to cover part of the cost)

* Every Tuesday is training day! Only £5 for 60 min freeplay table booking (unlimited balls)

*Group session training schedule:
- Tuesday 15th of February – Half Price for all players - £4 only
- Tuesday 22nd February - Half Price for all players - £4 only
- Tuesday 8th March – Half Price for players short listed to be resident academy members
- Tuesday 22nd March – Half Price for players short listed to be resident academy members
