Missing Lost in Action

Post by Rob Davey » Sun Dec 16, 2012 1:58 pm

I'm trying to find that thread where Martyn Harris rightfully slated Mase bigstyle.

About the world cup forum.

You know the one where Joe H posted that funniest come back in forum history (in my opinion) about assistant 'to' the managing director.

I can't find it and wonder if the whole thread has been deleted.

Can someone help?

Rob

Rob,

It has been moved to the "Moderator Bin" which means it still exists, but has been moved to a private forum that Admins, Moderators and potentially Committee members can see (however I am not sure about the Committee members).

The last post was from Joe Bundy saying:

"Locking this topic as it's just getting silly now. Love you all x"

No idea who subsequently moved it to the Moderator Bin, nor why they didn't post some explanation as to why it was moved in the Moderator forum. I will ask the questions....

Hey Dan

Thanks buddy nice to see someone with integrity posting a reply.

I would also like an explanation as to why there is some type of censoring going on.

Whoever put it in this moderator bin owes an explanation.

However I don't think there is anyone there with the strength of character needed to own up and explain there motives.

I appreciate your help Dan - please let me know what you can uncover.

Thanks

Rob

Too much dirty linen and too public - the personal stuff was too integral to the topic to be simply edited out and had no place in a public forum which can be read by potential new players, their parents, and potential sponsors!

Was it king Harold or James who stated the same reasoning in law? My history is slightly rusted.

Maybe instead of a clandestine group of moderators with no rules to framework we could just create a forum
to place these threads in - that way we all don't feel sullied by the secrets of power.

That thread was ridiculous to start with. It left a sour taste in the mouth and I won't be missing it. But if you want to find something else to bicker and moan about now that that particular ship has sailed, please feel free... sigh

Don't make this about me.

This is about justice and the truth!

Tom your morale compass is so blooped up I'm impressed you can find the toilet let alone this forum to post your jibberish on.

Please can we avoid personal insults.

We have heard the reasons why the topic was moved, and to be honest this thread is quickly heading into the same territory. This is a shame as there are valid arguments on both sides, which deserve to be argued eloquently and coherently rather than descending into playground name calling.

Please, let's behave like the responsible adults that we pretend to be away from this forum.

Lots of love

Dan.

This user guide is too long to scan read.

Is there any items I need to be guided to to make your point Boris?

Can PM's (private messages) be seen by anyone other than the sender and the recipient?

I don't believe so, certainly not by a moderator, but maybe an Admin can enlighten us...

I don't think so (but then again I am not an admin so can not be definitive there. I definitely cannot see anyone's PMs. However, an admin can of course reset someone's password, so they would be able to access to any PMs by resetting the password and then signing in. This would of course be obvious to the member that something was up, as their password would have stopped working.

I understand that PHPBB boards encrypt the passwords so even admins could not get at them, although again this is what I believe and Tom or Shovo may have super powers and have got round these system constraints...

PMs are stored as plain text in the database so anyone with the right login details could read them. As far as I'm aware only Tom has these though.

What are you actually getting at Martyn? Do you think someone's been reading your PMs? That would be very unlikely.

Transparency John. That's all. I think a private message should be just that, and if it isn't, then I and I suspect others would like to know who has access on here.
