Eggheads

Post by The Doctor » Wed Jul 22, 2009 5:45 pm

Time to think outside of the box in promoting the game...

Why not have the British foos team appear on Eggheads in their full regalia? Or, failing that, a bunch of halfway well-informed BFA bods. Either way, it would be a great opportunity to spread the word to 2 million+ people.

I have no real idea how much useless trivia our players have squirrelled away in their recesses of their foos-laden minds, but would take a punt on this team of six doing well (don't ask me why):

Boris
Shovie
Mayya
Dave Morgan
Ollie Deakin
Mike Amsden

If these, or other, ppl want to appear on the prog, then make it known on this thread and I'll fill in the application form and send it off. :D

I'll have a go. My specialities are film and ancient Greek myths.

COLIN FALLON is a fabulous addition to any quiz team btw. Just finished an English Literature degree at Warwick, specialises in novels and literature but is all round very good. Not a regular Britfoos checker though, but I could get in touch if another player is needed.

It's five to a team on Eggheads.

Excellent - that's one definite and one possible, then.

Re team members, it's five on telly but they want six nominated on the form.

If you're short - I'm so in.

Sport obv, and incredibly obscure stuff. Note a round on university challenge 'identify the whale by the picture', 4 out for 4. Aww yeah.

I'm pretty sure we've been asked to do this. Perhaps Boris can confirm? Given the number of oxbridge grads & oldmen we should be able to get a decent team together.

£1000 + £1000 rolled over from each of the Eggheads' previous wins.

Dave Z - Team Captain.

He'd get my vote.

You have to have a clever team but we also dont want to stereo type foos by sending 5 oxbridge wet blankets (please not not all oxbridge are wet blankets, a large amount, but not all). We need to send characters. The show grinds my gears, personally i'd want to rip that camp fool CJ limb from limb. So its worth making sure the people we choose don't have too much character.

The jackpot is, incredibly, currently at £60,000. Good luck :)

I'm just filling in the form as people volunteer on this thread - first come, first served. Otherwise we'll end up getting bogged down in the creation of some ridiculous selection committee, have interminable arguments and nothing will happen. So far no Oxbridge people at all.

Who else wants a share of the 60 grand then?

Would prospective Egghead-beaters please PM me their email addresses so I can send some application form bits for them to complete.

Still space for two people on the team.

Do you need a specialist in each area or just all-round polymaths?

The only criteria are that they can breathe, speak and send me their details before other people do.

Could you and Boris pm me your email addresses so I can send you both the relevant forms, Dave. :D

It might be worth actually watching the programme before you select the team, Andrei. Each round is on a particular category, and if your team wins a round, you eliminate one of the eggheads from the final round, so it's much more important to have specialists in each category (I don't know what the categories are - just do a search) than all-rounders.
