There are nine possible subjects in the head-to-head rounds.

* Politics
* Arts & Books
* Food & Drink
* History
* Geography
* Science
* Music
* Film & Television
* Sport

"Music" and "Film & Television" were introduced in Autumn 2008 through a split of the "Entertainment" category.

I want to make it clear that I have absolute faith in every member of the team that has self-selected for the programme.*

Can I be changed to Joe 'Volume 1' Bundy, for obv reasons. I'd also be fine with 'Jomar' and 'Bundesliga'.

Don't worry, Joe, there's no space for nicknames on the form.

We do have to think of a team name tho' - any suggestions?

Obv kit is a necessity.

Hmmm

* Politics - Pretty good since 1960s
* Arts & Books - Others may be better
* Food & Drink - I cook a lot in different styles
* History - Non-specialist but decent general knowledge
* Geography - Non-specialist but decent general knowledge
* Science - Decent general knowledge, multidisciplinary
* Music - Not so good on classical or recent pop but basic
* Film & Television - Depends, not so good on soaps but OK on most of the rest
* Sport - Not too bad I s'pose, been watching sport on TV for past 40 years so must have picked something up

Is there somewhere I/we can watch old episodes to get an idea of the type/standard of questions likely to be asked?
Narrowly missed out on 'Top of the Form' and 'University Challenge' teams as first reserve.

As long as food and drink questions are about stir fry's, curry's, and bread and oil... Dave Bareham will dominate.

It sounds like you are quite an all rounder Boris. Maybe you would be a good choice to not face off against an egghead and instead be guaranteed a place in the final round?

My Stats:

Entertainment: 1, 2, 3, Guess4, Guess5, Wrong6,
History: 1, Noidea2, Noidea3, Guess4, Noidea5, Noidea6, NoideaS1, NoideaS2
Sport: 1, 2, Noidea3, Noidea4, Noidea5, Noidea6,
Arts and Books: 1, Noidea2, Noidea3, Noidea4, Noidea5, Noidea6

General Knowledge: Noidea1, Noidea2, Noidea3, Wrong4, Noidea5, Noidea6, NoideaS1, NoideaS2

Pretty awful to be honest...

This Britfoos Eggheads team is a lot like NASCAR —

Are you there to see the winner or the crash?

Don't answer that question.

Just be there.

After watching a few episodes I've deduced some important information:

Challengers have the choice of answering first or second. Most people choose to answer first, which makes sense: the pressure is always on the second player if the first player has played perfectly.

Kevin is the Eggheads' strongest player. Next are probably Daphne and Chris, followed by Judith then CJ as the weakest player.
Judith is particularly weak at Sports; she often outright guesses at questions on football. Daphne also isn't great at Sports.
If an Entertainment round comes up then the challengers often nominate to play against Kevin, suggesting that this is a weakness of his - though I've never seen him lose. Teams seem to like the strategy of removing Kevin from the final round if possible, though I'm not convinced that this is the best idea, as while Kevin is the best he isn't head and shoulders above the others. Less Eggheads overall in the final round would be preferable to a bigger Kevin-less team I think, as then we'd have more players which is much more important than the eggheads having less, so to speak. Though Kevin has at least on 2 occasions single-handedly won a final round.

Everything hangs on the final round, and the formats are short which does seem to favour an upset. 3 questions each before sudden-death begins means that this could well all rest on luck. Once sudden death does begin it's inevitable that the eggheads are more likely to win as we no longer have the element of chancing the right answer from the selection. Therefore our best hope is to get our three questions right and pray that the eggheads get an annoying question that they miss. See the example on youtube where the oxford (brookes) guys win £75,000.

I still haven't pinned down any particular weaknesses in Chris or CJ, though CJ is still the weakest player (and the most annoying).

They seem to have introduced a new player, Barry, that occasionally plays in place of one of the eggheads. I don't know much about him at all.

I'll post more if I think of anything else. If other people know useful information then post here! We'll need all the help we can get.
