Not really seen him play - not a big Tennis fan - but sounds to me like he has more chance of actually winning something than Henman.

He is just ridiculously inconsistent. I think this is at least the 2nd time he has won a big tournament only to crash out in the 1st round at the next.

At least he is not consistently average, means he may actually win Wimbledon one day (well at least a better chance than Henman which is not exactly great).

Still I agree that he is a total idiot.

This.

I dislike him less than I used to.

How about we just focus on people like Rebecca Adlington - anyone else watch that earlier? It was awesome, but then I always get caught up and excited by things like this.

It was quality, but I think the failures should be singled out more. People are always saying unlucky, tried your best etc. Tell it like it is.  He got owned by a nobody.

And you could equally argue that we put so much pressure on anyone remotely promising, in a sporting field where we feel we aren't as good as we should be (pretty much everything), that it gets too much and they under-perform.

I understand your point, but I don't think that it's putting too much pressure to expect someone to put in a level of performance that reflects their ability.

He was Scottish this morning. When he wins he's obviously British.

I'm not sure the media agree. Whenever a Briton fails, they're straight into the midriff with a knife.

I think Joe's right, personally.

And tennis shouldn't even be an event at the Olympics.
Every Friday at Rileys Manchester on Deansgate. PM me for more info.

He's still a tit. If he wasn't motivated to play properly in the Olympics, he shouldn't have gone.

Andy Murray produced a sensational performance to lead world number one Rafael Nadal by two sets to love before rain halted their US Open semi-final.
Fingers and toes crossed.
