Simon Mayo Drive Time - BBC Radio 2 - Friday 15th Jan

Post by Boris » Thu Jan 14, 2010 4:02 pm

Thanks to a tip from Joules Rathke:
Hi Boris,

I was listening to Simon Mayo's new show on Radio 2 today and heard his sports presenter invite emails about sporting events which are under represented in the media. They have a slot in the Friday show to report on such things.

It might timely to send an email about Team GB's performance at the World Cup and
maybe get some coverage and a mention of Britfoos. Women's team in the final, ball tampering by the French - makes a story.
I wrote in and they just rang back - intrigued by the seniors missing out to the 'auld enemy' in extra time, and alleged skullduggery on the part of the French. Should go out live around 6.45pm tomorrow evening.

Boris, good work.

It would be useful to mention that players have to pay their own way and that Team GB cannot send the strongest possible team without sponsorship, and that the BFA is currently looking for a new sponsor.

Nice one Boz, got the Britfoos website site in, the word "allegedly" regarding the French  and general good stuff including the World Champs/World Cup, foosball in the UK and advertising the Liverpool tourney. Sweet.

Boris, I just listened to this as was really impressed. I couldn't have done a better job if I'd scripted it all out a week in advance. And I certainly couldn't have done it on the fly like you did. Brilliant.

Naturally I will be spending the rest of my weekend trying to calculate if you are correct that you are not in the way of the ball 70% of the time if you spin the rods...

Good stuff Boz, it seems the foos knowledge has pushed out your own son's age from your brain (he's 23 by the way ).
