UKC - Women Pls Read

Post by *mayya* » Fri Oct 21, 2011 9:11 am

It has come to our attention that there are very few women planning on competing in the UKC.

Could all women who want to put themselves forward for selection for the World Championships via the UKC email committee@britfoos.com by end-of Monday 24th October.

If we don't hear from you by then, you will not be able to compete in the UKC.

I thought the UKC was 'open' this year, i.e. anyone could turn up and play on the day.

Is there now a general Monday deadline for UKC application, or does this just apply to women?

It is just for women.

Anyone who needs an explanation on this (most women already know about this obvs) pls PM me - but the gist is if there are 2 spaces for something and only 2 contestants..

3 days doesn't seem a fair amount of time to respond in my opinion.

Point taken. But as I said, this isnt coming out of nowhere. This is a Committee decision. ~All women have been notified (I have spoken to most, and will again speak to them this weekend). By now most know whether they are able to go to Nantes (=how this started in the first place).

If any women have any problems, pls get in touch with me.

As it is such a short notice, I am going to speak on behalf of Laura Thirsk and put her forward for selection. We do plan on attending the UKC anyways as the BFA Cup will be ongoing.

EDIT: Alright will do Bundy.

Meng, I suggest you contact Laura (you're probably both in the same car on the journey back right now) and get her to contact the committee directly. You have my number, just get her to text me if needed.

Shovo could easily say his gran wanted to attend etc.

I appreciate the short notice is not ideal.
