BFA Logo Redesign/Rebranding

Post by El Capitan » Wed Aug 27, 2008 11:04 am

Hello everyone,

The "BFA" and "Britfoos" logos are rubbish. There - I said it. They were only ever meant to be temporary designs but have lasted for many years now.

Some interest has been sparked and creative juices have been flowing. I would like to get all this talent together to work on some new designs.

If they are good enough, the BFA will be adopting a new design, based on popularity (instant appeal) and practicality (ease of printing, re-sizing etc).

If you would like to help design a new logo for the BFA, please contact me and I will add you to the working group.

Regards
John

The BritFoos logo was meant to be temporary, but not the BFA logo.

I actually quite like the BFA logo but would be willing to look at alternatives. The Britfoos logo should be changed though.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the BFA logo as it stands, except perhaps for the yellow background.  It will also cost a helluva a lot to produce new team kits with a new logo.

The Britfoos logo is rubbish though...

No promises, but I'll see if the graphic designers we use at work can do me a freebie as a favour.

The BFA logo is good, but not great. If someone comes up with something better then I'd have no issue dumping it.

Knocked this up this morning, it incorporates the BFA foos-man and the site url, dunno if you will like it or not though.

Very stylish, but a) table specific b) not obvious to Joe Schmo that it's table football (needs full name of BFA, in other words (cf. my numerous rants on this subject))

Adding a strapline is easy: Re: Tornado man - point taken: but I fear making it more generic might make it less... foos?

I'll see what I can do with it later

I think the priority is the Britfoos logo. Many people think the BFA logo is fine.

Are you joking? The poll I ran had over 75% wanting a change of main logo.

Wouldnt it be best to change both, so they can be linked together?

Same logo, but just a change in the words

I hope you dont mind if I use my own example, by visiting
www.gamesindoors.co.uk and www.camerasdisposable.co.uk you can see that the logo is the same but the colors and text are different.

no offense intended, but what is it about amateur logo design that makes everyone suddenly go all 80s-tastic with excessive shading and fading, heavy outlines, as well as different-sized, often itallic-ed, over-seriffed fonts?? i'm no graphic designer, but i'm of the firm belief that things can never be too simple....

i think this might be a job for a professional, but I had a quick go at simplifying/updating the existing BFA logo (which is obviously not a priority, but could still benefit from a makeover), and designing a matching britfoos logo to go with it.  i don't think it's great, but at least it is a step in the right direction. but there must be some real graphic designers out there who can do a better job?

i've no idea how to post an image on here, but hopefully the link below will work - if not, can someone more technically minded please help me - thanks!

I agree with Donna we need to keep this simply guys!  Too much silliness is going on...

Here is my effort:

Couldn't agree more. And for the record, I think the current BFA logo is fine. Not great, but fine. The yellow could do with a change and the full wording written underneath. Gets the point across just fine.

The Britfoos logo looks temporary, but something along the lines of Donna's suggestion is the way forward for me.
