EGM 26th October

Post by The Doctor » Sat Oct 14, 2017 5:24 pm

There will be an extraordinary General Meeting of the BFA at 7pm on Thursday 26th
October at the Anglia Grove Snooker Club, 26 Marcon Place, London, E8 1LP.

Agenda

Bye-Election for London Regional Representative

A vacancy currently exists on the BFA Committee for the post of Regional Representative for London. Having been advertised first on the 11th May, Paul Martin has since offered to fill the position and this EGM will be for the sole purpose of putting his – and any others' - application(s) to the vote.

Nine members are required for the meeting to be quorate. Should it be quorate, those present will be asked to ratify the election either unanimously or by a show of hands, should someone object verbally.

Please note that applications to the position are still open and should be sent to committee@britfoos.com. In the event of there being two or more candidates a secret ballot will be held at the EGM among those present.

The duties of the regional representative are specified in BFA policy documentation as follows:
6.3 The duties of regional representatives include, but may not be restricted to:
(a) The coordination and establishment of clubs within the region, acting as representative for those
clubs in the BFA committee via regular contact with club captains and other club officials.
(b) The development of a local structure, increasing participation in competitive foosball at a grassroots
level, including the coordination of local and regional tournaments and regional
championships.
(c) The development of a programme for increasing awareness of, and competitive participation in,
foosball for new players, particularly those under 18 years.
(d) Liaison with educational establishments, including schools, colleges, youth clubs, organisations,
governors' bodies and similar establishments.
(e) Liaison with foosball-related companies serving schools, colleges, youth clubs and similar
establishments
6.4 Regional Representatives have the right to vote on general resolutions in the Executive
Committee and the same general duties as other executive committee members.

It is anticipated that the EGM will take less than five minutes.
