Live Streaming At The Capital Venue Open

Post by Christopher Lyall » Wed May 15, 2013 8:27 pm

Contrary to my earlier announcements, I can now confirm that there WILL be live streaming of matches at the Capital Venue Open on 7th - 9th June! Matches in the main auditorium area on Table 1 will be broadcast on http://www.justin.tv/5BarFoosball throughout the weekend

The streaming is completely free to watch, and I'll post more details of exactly how you can go about viewing it nearer the time.

Thanks,

Chris

In the nicest possible way, I hope no-one watches it...

They should all be at the event instead. :D

If there's a DYP at the venue next Thursday we'll take the opportunity to test the stream before the main event.

Thanks Slackjaw,

I can confirm we will be testing the live streaming at this Thursday's DYP at The Capital Venue

The address is http://www.justin.tv/5BarFoosball

I'm keen to hear feedback on the quality of the stream while it's going as well as afterwards as I should be able to adjust the settings to make it smoother or clearer, so if people could watch and utilise the chat function to let me know how it's looking that would be helpful.

Chris, please update you first post with the link.

Quality night last night at the Capital Venue..

The live streaming was a success and worked really well, a UK first and definitely a great feature to have at the tournament. The chat function was really cool and made for some good banter/insults... about my sweaty armpits and more so about my hair colour and lack of ability on the table!

DYP was really good fun especially with Paul Martin banging in back pins for fun... smashing home 4 in the first game.. serious help for the forward in a race to 7! (still only managed to win 7-6 though)

The venue was SICK!!! very professional and spacious! nice staff, good bar which was made from a snooker table.. pretty cool and even better when its £2.40 a pint!! And the pit area is amazing! Looking forward to watching a lot of good finals matches down there... Its gonna produce a seriously good atmosphere!

All in all great night, good fun, amazing venue and i'm really looking forward to what is sure to be an awesome event!!

As I was in the area, I decided to try out Capital Venue last night. This is a fantastic place to hold a Foosball event. The Venue want us there. Thats always a great start. The Pit area for the main matches is fantastic. Unlike James, I don't want to just watch matches, I want to be playing in matches there. What a buzz that would be. More practice required, I know.
The Bar was excellent value, and if I didn't need to to stay sober to drive back to London last night............
There is the normal Bar food as well. All good value. Hope they have enough staff to cope on the day. Rick (I think it was Rick)the barman was very helpful, but he won't be able to cope on his own.
The DYP was good fun, but the live streaming was hysterical. The time delay meant that after yet another blistering shot from Mr Shovelton, he could then rush to the laptop to see his handywork. It also worked the other way. There was the proof of all our screw ups for all to see.
The table is a very nice piece of kit. You need some very fast reactions on this beast. It flys.( unlike the BA762 to OSLO).
The main tournament area for 15/16 tables, is going to be great. The lighting will be excellent. (old git problem). I can't wait. See you all there.
This could be the start of a beautiful relationship.
Capital Venue and Foosball
Me and Leonhart.
James and the Bar.
