BUMP - my standard appeal to people to pre-register as soon as you can. I know lots of people coming who have not yet (there is a 20 bed hostel room booked, fully filled, with only 2 of them having pre-reg'd etc) and it will help the tournament if you can take the 1 minute to do so.

Thanks.

Pre-reg forms have started flying in (38 table football related e-mails in my inbox for today) so thanks guys.

Boris will updated the list tomorrow.

For those who have not pre-reg'd yet - it would be appreciated if you could do tomorrow/Saturday. I'd much rather do the bulk of the compiling the pre-reg doc and setting up SPORT when I'm free Sunday afternoon rather than in the week when I'm a lot busier and would usually like to avoid staying up this late to get foos stuff done.

Thanks.

Pre-registration is closing 9pm Wednesday (25th Jan).

If you fully pre-register then you will not need to fill out a paper registration form on the day.

I will post a full list of those entered into every event through the pre-reg when it closes Wednesday. If you do not see your name in an event you want to enter then you will have to fill in a paper form at the tournament. Entry to each event will close 1 hour before the scheduled start time. If you have not pre-registered or filled in a paper form you will not be in the event.

Thanks,

Joe.

One hour to go. No discounts or package deals for players who have not pre-registered before the deadline.

I am bringing some players who are coming to their first tournaments. I know we should have pre-reged them but it was difficult for them to sort partners for themselves (had to do some inter-Warwick/Keele partnerships for some) and honestly they did not know any better.

Is there any way the package deal can be open for novices only? They don't even know what pre-regging is, let alone know about the BFA forums. Would be a shame for a new player to the scene to pay 12 quid more for the novice events. I literally asked Bundy 20 minutes after pre-reg closed if I can just blindly pre-reg them on their behalves for the package deal.

Please let me know the good news Boris!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!? It's almost heartbreaking to tell them that they don't have package deals... this is good for the grassroots of Keele Foosball!

It's funny how I have had 4 people say to me in the last 40 mins that they have missed the deadline, and can I add them in.

This deadline was announced, and I know you were all aware of it. So paper forms await you

It will be up to Boris if he desires to still give any discounts to new players.

The new players should be let off but existing players know the score.

We have to be tough on existing players so that they get used to it. Without an appropriate consequence there will never be a change in incorrect behaviors.

There was no reason for SP and above to pre-register (other than not being an absolutely selfish individual) but we did it anyways and it was to help the tournament organisers. These new players I'm speaking about, one of them just started playing foosball 2 days ago but was interested enough to come to a tournament in Liverpool. I am still in the midst of helping them with partners and such.

I agree with a punishment for existing players but these guys are literally SCRUBS! Please forgive their nubile young minds, give them a 12 quid discount and let them have their fun in the novice events. Take into consideration that everyone else that should have pre-registered from Keele has done so and I don't even get a package deal.

Well. SWIFT AND DECISIVE JUSTICE MUST BE HANDED TO THEM.

Edit: Well not really. I think Boz should let our novices play with a package deal still though.
Edit2: Crump's still a relative beginner. His first tournament was at Fireball so he can be let off. Not everyone lurks or knows the workings of the BFA and Josh has graduated.

I did say that they should be let off. We should do all we can to encourage new players not create more barriers.

I agree with all who said Novices should be allowed the package deal, especially because the first we heard of it was an hour before the deadline. In forcing the novices to pay full price, you are effectively punishing us more experienced players who have worked to get new players to the scene because we have to tell them they suddenly have to pay more.

There should be no debate here. There is absolutely no reason not to allow registration and packages for novice-ranked players. They have no impact on seeding or registration time, and even those who do occasionally check the forum should not be punished - this just means we need to do more to engage them rather than punishing them.

What Jon says is dead right. And so is this:
