Tournament Coordination Commission. All tournaments that want BFA ranking/POY/ITSF status have to pass a vote through here. It is currently made up of 9 people who have experience in running tournaments.

I really hope this event goes ahead, it would be a huge shame if this event got cancelled as I know so many people are looking forward to it. There is a huge amount of interest in the tournament that I've heard from many people, I hope any issues are resolved swiftly and we can all look forward to one of the most consistently good tournaments on our slowly diminishing calendar.

Cheers,
Steve

I hadn't realised this was BFA politics, thought it was something to do with the ITSF but maybe not.

http://forum.britfoos.com/forum/viewtop ... =14&t=8458

This seems to be a lot of heavy artillery to throw at the issue of putting on a tournament, no doubt there's a history and good reason why. Still, seems odd if it's something which the organiser wants to put on, and loads of people want to go to, why things are apparently stuck. Really hope it gets put on, hope that whatever the sticking point is, it works itself through. Good luck.

Can someone from the TCC please explain what is holding this up?

I do not think this is an unfair request, after all you are there for us in a round about way so please communicate. People will simply walk away from Britfoos and the tournament scene and stay at home and in the pubs if events do not take place. On one part of the forum you are asking people to put on events and then you are not acting swiftly in this respect.

Communication and clear decision making will only make members feel more valued.

Regards,

Ben

The tournament has had enough votes to go ahead as masters series for a day now so should be announced soon. Waiting for Boris to visit the forum and post.

The hold up was due to:
- Boris deciding on "masters series or nothing", so was unable to announce the tournament because he was waiting for the masters series vote, even though the main vote had already been successful
- Multiple people feeling unable to vote for masters series because the question "does the venue have enough space", asked repeatedly over the last month, remained unanswered until 2 days ago.

Still waiting for Boris... he's been away from the office since Friday and hasn't logged in since then.

Yes it is confirmed for the 27-29 Jan, just finalising the timetable and fees etc, then should have pre-reg form. Will make formal announcement in a new thread then lock this one.
