the management have replaced the 04 balls with orange eggs ffs - anywhere else decent to play in Reading? And to top that they've now reduced the number of balls from 10 to 5. Five eggs for 50p, woohoo. I spoke to one of the guys who maintains the table at the Turtle and he was trying to tell me ho...

Personally I couldn't imagine any travelling to this event so you'll only really be getting Cambridge studnets. Perhaps if this event was a success there could be a university tour to promote the game amongst students across the country. I don't think free food is essential, but sensible pricing is ...

Personally I love the Roberto Sport table. I currently have the BFAs table in my home and find it a great table to practice on. Sure, I'm a foosball n00b, but this table has helped me improve and I find I can quite easily transfer my skills to Garlando. The grippiness makes it a very forgiving table...

Friday's nearly always a good night at the Turtle. The later the better in my experience, at least after nine.

I'll very probably be there.

Awesome news. I always wondered if anything would ever come of this.

I guess I better attend so that Alex can boast some more.

16.1.1. Once a ball has clearly stopped and is not immediately passed it must be passed between at least 2 player figures before it can be legally passed. This sounds insane. If the ball is not passed, before it can be passed it must be passed. Maybe something referring to the ball being passed bet...

Looks like the new handle is in (or is that still Stumpy's temporary solution?).

Should be down there later tonight.

You would say that! At the moment I think I could part with around £220 for it, which I know is extremely low for this table. I'm amazed at how low the auction price has stayed. You might be surprised at how much the price surges towards the end of the auction. I really don't think I'd be able to ge...

I think both of the sides have the upgraded handles judging from this photo:  http://i16.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/96/07/8cc2_1.JPG As it stands, the Olympic is the much better option at the moment. Two of my friends have cars, one with a 306 and one with a Rover 25. I was thinking that maybe it would be...

I really really want this table. The price is currently a steal.

Two problems though, I don't know if I can get it down to Reading (I could have access to either a Peugot 306 and/or a Rover 25, perhaps half in each would fit?) and secondly I will be at work when the auction ends!

i don't see what the massive fuss over round goals is - i know its not ideal, but for amateurs just looking for practice then i find them fine. Also its often a necessary compromise, as the older tables are often cheaper. I think ideally I would like to have square goals though. I can easily see my...

Thank you for the advice Boris, however I don't think I'll ever be able to justify spending anything over £200 upfront on a foosball table at my level of play. I'm fairly sure that Stumpy has a full set of telescopic pinny players so figured that if I were to ask nicely.. Upgrading the playfield wou...

Old Coperto Deluxe

I just found a Coperto Deluxe (red/white/blue) for sale in my area for £175. Which seems like a steal. The only real issues are the players (blocky foot), the pitch (slick) and the goals (which are round). The first two can be solved pretty easily, but can anything be done about the round goals? Som...

I think shovie is onto something with this. I've been playing foos for quite a while now but as of yet have not attended any tournaments (as much as I'd like to) largely due to travel, costs and accomodation etc. but on some occassions because the table used is Tornado, which I've never played on. I...

Purple Turtle: A regular night/event?

Considering the players we have in Reading I think it would be great if we could arrange a more formal and regular event at the Purple Turtle. Perhaps we could get a scene going like at the Bush in Bristol. I only suggest this since whenever I go to the Turtle it seems to be 50-50 as to whether ther...

Anyone know what happened to the handle on the table at the Turtle?

For those who don't know, the blue 3-bar handle has been all but destroyed.  There's litteraly one inch of handle to hold onto making it nearly impossible to play on.

Shame really.

Howdy,

I'm very much interested in buying this.
Only two problems though, I have absolutely no way of getting it down to Reading and am temporarily strapped for cash!

So yeah.
