You have a ranking, and get charged accordingly. If you want to be able to wander round saying I'm in the top ten/twenty/fifty/one hundred int he country you have to deserve this, and this means being hit in the pocket when it comes to entry fees If you read my post you will have seen that I wasn't...

In fact this table is probably a better ranking system than the experience based ones we have at the moment. Do you really mean this? It seems too distorted to towards gving credit to people who get to every tournament, which although important, should not be the critical factor in the rankings. Se...

Cheers Martyn, you and the Bush crowd made us feel very welcome, and made sure we got plenty of table time. I thoroughly enjoyed playing and chatting, and look forward to returning sometime. The standard of play was very high, and has reinforced what I already know....I need a table to practice my 5...

One other unrelated thing, as soon as WC garlandos become commonly available to play (if this happens) we'll see an improvement in standard for pub type players. A lot of the traditional style really do lend themselves to hacking as it's so hard to do controlled shots. Mmmmm..... Hacking I would li...

It seems to me that the best players are those who play on multiple table types. People who restrict themselves to one table type are hindering the progress of their game.

Thus, if the BFA were to support just one table type it would be detrimental to the development of a highly skilled player base.

As far as national competitions on WC spec tables are concerned, put the buffers against the wall to stop the rods falling back down so easily. Seemed to work fine for me at Reading and Burnley. At the end of the day, there is still a 15-20 second rule which incorporates time taken to set up rods. I...

Re: 5-bar up? 5-bar down?

In the Oxford League there is a rule, and it is as follows. During singles, the 5-bar may only be in a raised position when the players hand is on the bar, i.e. you can't leave the midfield up. Does this Oxford rule only refer to the 5 bar? If so, I presume you can leave the 3 bar up, and hold the ...

I don't play this game in order to earn money to live off, and I doubt anyone would claim they do. But the (little) prize money that there is on offer makes the games a lot more interesting. People know that the difference between 4th and 3rd is £10 or whatever, and again it improves between 3rd and...

I would just like to point out that James, you do now own a powerball, and are as hooked as I am. Current scores: Right hand: 13,243 Left hand: 12,058 It's amazing how quickly you can improve with continued use of these things, those people who were getting 12,000 within the first couple of days of ...

My left hand is really poor.

Right hand = 11, 508
left hand = 10,103

Although I did break my left wrist a couple of years ago and it's never been the same since.

This looks like a fantastic way to introduce the game to people via putting something like this into video arcades across the country/world. Admittedly right now this is far too expensive, but if someone were to back the idea and develop this robot into a decent compact arcade game then I'm sure tha...
