Re: Venue Listings - please tell us about new or dead venues

My 2 Tornados (50c for 9 balls) in University College Cork Old Student Bar will be out of action from May 29th until September as the bar will be closed for the summer holidays. I'm in negotiations to find homes for them over the summer.

Seeking a good table and opposition in Amsterdam 1-9 July

I'll be on holidays and seeking a good table and opposition in Amsterdam 1-9 July.

The only table I was aware of was in one of the Bulldog Cafés on Oudezijds Voorburgwal in De Wallen area but that has been removed. I may have to contact the local foosball organisation.

Thanks,
Gary

Re: Venue Listings - please tell us about new or dead venues

There is a table in City Limits Comedy Club on Coburg Street in Cork, but I can't remember what kind (it was years ago) and it was very badly lit. I heard it was still there a couple of months ago, so assume it still is.

Re: Venue Listings - please tell us about new or dead venues

I'll be installing 2 coin-operated Tornados (50cent per game) in the Old College Bar in UCC (University College Cork) tonight.

Upstairs in Bar Nua in the Student Centre in University College Cork, there's a badly lit Garlando coin-op with a glass cover (now removed). It was badly lubricated too.

Re: Venue Listings - please tell us about new or dead venues

Boris, thanks for the great suggestion, but I'm actually amazed that they replaced the old one in the first place. For years and after many complaints from myself and doubtless others, until a month or so ago the table had a rough, potholed surface, bent bars, missing men, broken men sellotaped toge...

Re: Venue Listings - please tell us about new or dead venues

Foosball in Cork: Just checked out the Old Oak on Oliver Plunkett St. Rumours that they have a table and a regular competition are untrue. Checked out Sober Lane on Sullivan's Quay. Their proposal to have a table installed for the quiet month of January is yet to happen. There's a glass-covered Robe...

RE: Seeking a good table and opposition in Lanzarote B4 Tue

On my last night there, we found a poor quality table (but cheap: 7 balls for 50c) in Lineker's bar on Playa Grande in Puerto Del Carmen. One of the barmen there is quite keen to play and quite good. He gave me a fright until I got used to the table, although it's not hard to frighten me.

Re: Any Players in Cork or Belfast?

Thanks very much. I´ll gladly travel to Northern Ireland for some decent games, but it´d have to be 4 or more hours...over 2 days if necessary to make the journey from the opposite end of the country worthwhile. I Dublin I have to be there on the right night of the week when the appropriate host is ...

Seeking a good table and opposition in Lanzarote B4 Tue

Does anybody know where I can get to play foosball on a good table and with good opposition in Lanzarote. I thought that in civilised countries (not like Ireland) there would be a foosball table in every pub an cafe, with loads of experts hogging the table, but no. I´ve searched lots, and asked some...

Any Players in Cork or Belfast?

Is there anybody in Cork who'd be good for a bit of practice? Not that I know of. Is there anybody in Northern Ireland who'd be good for a bit of practice? Any venue in Northern Ireland with a decent table? Would Britfoos know? Would they have members up there? It's a shame that I've to travel to Du...

Re: Venue Listings - please tell us about new or dead venues

The Osborne Bar in Edward Street Tralee has a very cheap home play table for free play. I would feel bitter paying money to play it, but for free in a brilliant bar, it's not awful. It's the best of the cheap, small kiddies' tables I've seen. Am I correct in saying that the Czech Inn in Dublin's Tem...

Re: Results and Afterglow for the European Fireball Open 201

Thanks to the organisers and the players, particularly those who practiced with me and gave me tips. A great gang of friendly cool people who are passionate about our sport. It was a great event. I learned loads and improved loads. I was seriously drained for a week afterwards. I can't remember bein...

Does anybody fancy a few games tomorrow? I'll be landing mid morning. I'm travelling to England to get a few decent games and will end up twiddling my thumbs for a day.

I'm looking for a partners for the novice doubles, open doubles, mixed doubles and handicap doubles. I'll give the amateur doubles a lash too...just for the joy of playing the game.
