Re: Bonzini World Series & ECL, 5-8 May 2016, St Quentin, France

JP has a Facebook group for those planning to go from London.

Isn't there a team event (European Champions Cup kind of thing)? Are we sending any teams e.g. Bar Kick or Shoreditch Hotshots as numbers 1 and 2 in the BFA League 2015...?

Re: BFA AGM 2016 - 12pm Sunday 21 Feb, Anglia Grove, London

I confirm that I would like to stand for the position of Secretary again. I joined the BFA Committee in 2013, and have been Secretary since 2014. I have been responsible in particular for developing the BFA's communication platform via social media (the Facebook page), and I maintain the BFA's membe...

BFA Club Captain Community

This is a message particularly for those who are the primary contact point, or club captain, for a BFA foosball club. +++ Thank you for participating in the recent BFA Club Captain Survey. The primary conclusion from this was that we would benefit from building up more connections between the UK's f...

Re: East Anglia Open Results & Afterglow

Joe, when I say "we've talked about", what I mean by that is, when people have in the past said "we can't organise tournaments because no-one will help with the tables", I have always felt that there are ways around it . I agree with you *entirely*, it is so much better to have people from the commu...

Re: ITSF Revisions to Rules for 2016

It's worse. 9.4.1 A player can take his hands from the handles to wipe them off before a shot, as long as this takes no more than two or three seconds. All time limits continue to run while the player wipes his hands. The team on defense should not relax if the opponent takes his hand(s) off the rod...

Re: East Anglia Open Results & Afterglow

We've talked before about whether a tournament organiser might just get some cheap local manual labour to help out with the setting up and take down rather than getting favours from friends, but in Joe's case he found a creative way round it by funding entries. My view for the future is that if / wh...

Re: East Anglia Open Results & Afterglow

Joe this is an excellent post and quite inspiring. I take your point that we haven't really communicated widely that people shouldn't expect the BFA Committee to do something, but instead we are here to facilitate if people want to take things into their own hands as you / Boris / Lee and Sarah have...

Fireball Factory Visit & Korea Table Soccer

I think the few of you who actually still read the forum know that I am living in Korea these days. Since the Fireball factory in China is very nearby, I was over there for a visit last Friday, on my way to the Shanghai Open, where Korea would be have representatives at a tournament for the first ti...

Re: East Anglia Open Results & Afterglow

When I was following UK foosball from afar, I used to really enjoy reading the Afterglow threads, with the advent of social media and the mostly-ghostly-silence of the Britfoos forum, they are few and far between, thanks for writing it up Matty. I didn't know you were 1 shot from beating Rob 3-0... ...

Re: Revisions to BFA Membership Scheme

Bobby, I appreciate you putting your thoughts down, it's great that someone is actually interested in this! As the initiator of the revisions to the scheme (and the person who looks after it), perhaps I can give a bit more background. There are essentially only two changes here. The first was to ali...

Revisions to BFA Membership Scheme

We announce some changes to the BFA Membership scheme. These will make it easier to understand what value you get from being a member of the BFA, as well as making it easier to administer. The changes are as follows: 1. “Basic Membership” has been removed. 2. Membership is no longer required to part...

Re: Best table £300-400? (Bonzini style)

The French tables are quite different to other tables, so if you are determined to stick close to Bonzini, your only options are the Bonzini clones (Rene Pierre, Sulpi etc). The most commonly used table in the UK is a Garlando, it feels quite different to a Bonzini but once you get used to it, it is...

Re: Best table £300-400? (Bonzini style)

Hi Chris, Glad to hear you're enjoying foosball. The Bonzini table is a lot of fun, and yes, there's a bit of a price-tag which comes with it. You'll have to look quite hard to find one at the price point you mentioned, they do from time to time turn up on ebay.co.uk, and it depends where you live a...
