Re: Garlando Worlds - 6-9 July
Just booked flights and made enquiry re: hotel booking to the tourism office. Jon and I are playing together and Rob has also said he's going (playing with Fred). Matt and Callum are you confirmed? If so that's 5 of us for the men's team (we need 6 at least). Rich has said he's interested, any more?

As it says, there's a Leonhart tournament going on 21st May in Caen which is on the north coast of France. I'm almost definitely going, anyone else interested?

Re: Birmingham Open 2016 - Results & Afterglow
This was a fun tournament for me, thanks to Boris, Chris, Joe and the table helpers, and the venue staff for all their work. Thanks to all my partners as well. The venue was quirky but actually worked quite well, it was great to have a proper sit down area and the food on Saturday was awesome. Overa...

Re: East Anglia Open Results & Afterglow
Thank you to Lee, Joe, Boris, Greta and all the other helpers for creating and delivering the tournament. It's great that you guys decided to do this, I know how much work goes in and it really is a team effort, so thanks to all of you. I personally had a good tournament and more importantly an enjo...

Re: New BFA Table Scheme
Joe, You need to get your facts right. As someone on the current committee who knows the details behind both schemes, I can confirm that this is nothing like the Tornado table scheme. The only cost to the BFA is storage which is very manageable, the BFA is not buying these tables. Can you please con...

Re: Britfoos Forum or Facebook? Discussion
That £500 isn't even a cost - you make that back from table and entry fees and can still keep things cheap for players. You don't need 50 trophies to make an event fun, sourcing a free venue is not very difficult and I'm sorry but if you're going to try to attract the best players across Europe then...

Re: Britfoos Forum or Facebook? Discussion
The over arching message is this - it is Bloop easy and simple for anyone right now to run a Garlando tournament. All you need to do is find a venue, the BFA has the tables and there are a wealth of people to advise and guide you through organising and running it. You'll likely be able to get someon...

Re: Britfoos Forum or Facebook? Discussion
Little incentive to run a tournament unless you get a hand out from the BFA? Really? Let me give you some perspective. The BFA has NEVER funded or sponsored a tournament. It has never subsidised entry fees to encourage organisers to run events. Yet we have had plenty of national tournaments over the...

Re: Britfoos Forum or Facebook? Discussion
This year marks a decade for me as a UK tournament player and this discussion has prompted me to post my thoughts. On the whole, over the 10 years I've been going to tournaments, attendance numbers have been about the same. You'd have your standard 60-100 person tournament at the Floatel or wherever...
