Re: Rob Davey
This is very sad news. I don't play any more but I remember playing Rob in one of his first comeback tournaments in Oxford, and just scraping over the line against a very shrewd defender, 9-8 after being 6-0 up when he started brick-walling my attacker. Soon after that he was Pro and then PM again a...

Re: The BFA Cup - Afterglow and Results
I hadn't been to a tournament in 18 months so I enjoyed seeing old friends again and meeting new folk at this one. I wasn't that fussed about the actual sport to be honest - but the large number of short format games was ideal for someone as out of practice / rubbish as me. Congrats to the Southampt...

Indeed ... that link above gives QF times. Take through top 3 and give byes to the top team from each group?Phil Williams wrote:Only 2 teams in each group goes through? That seems a bit harsh!

Re: Oxford Vs Warwick 2010
This was a fun match - thanks to Warwick for coming down. It was nice to see some new faces. When I arrived there were several people in the room I didn't recognise at all, about half of whom were on my own team. Quick note to say sorry to Tom for all the hacking. Your 5 was much better than mine so...

Re: UK Championships 2010
If you publish the pre-reg list and the draw, no-one has an unfair advantage as everyone has the same information without having to work anything out.

Re: So.... Has Oxford Uni table football died?
I've lost track - I think it's still going on, but duke/temple didn't go in for cuppers (i.e the whole of Trinity term) so I've not played a Uni match since may ( I think). As an old members/pub team, it's actually a bit of a let down - I can't remember the numbers, but we only played a fraction of...

Re: New Venues: Want to play Fireball?
One idea would be to have the balls available for a deposit payable at the bar - you don't bring them back, you lose your fiver.
Edit: though obviously that doesn't work with a coin mech, hmm.

Presumably you need another table to put your beer on to avoid being called for distraction.

Cancelled rather than just postponed? Surely it could be rearranged for sometime next term?Graeme wrote:Hopefully we'll have more luck arranging the match next year.

I had Fabregas as captain as well. Sadly he alone scored more than three times as many points as the rest of my team put together.
