Bushy: if you want a table with heavier rods you can have my old Tournament Soccer table, though you'd have to pick it up and move it yourself. It has solid steel through rods. PM me if you're interested.

What about students from non-UK universities? I know it's unlikely that people will travel specifically for the event, but if they're in the area anyway they might want to play  :?:

I'd have put the value (and as such paid up to) as about 150 quid looking at the pics.
They're WC rods in the table right? So you'd be looking at £100ish just for them...

Firstly, 20-0 walkovers.  Think about it - a claimed win should not be better than actually playing and winning the game.  Otherwise you are encouraging teams not to bother playing any games - just be difficult during the arrangement period and claim as many forfeits as you can. Absolutely. Remembe...

€55 is about £35 right? You can't buy much for that sort of money- certainly nothing of any real quality.

Thanks Harry, Steve, Luke and co for another great tournament. I enjoyed it immensely. Also thanks Adam for partnering me- waiting 4 years team up was definitely worth the wait. I had a good run in singles, just edging out Dave Morgan along the way (percentage beating flair :)) and only just losing ...

Philo you're correct. £2 is nothing and tbh £5 isnt worth much. I think we should charge £10 and for that give some real bonuses for membership. So 1. we are generating a higher amount of money and 2. Members are getting real value. I too would be happy to pay anywhere up to £10 for BFA membership,...

I think that Rookies would like to see the Amateur Doubles final largely because it offers them an example of new(ish) players who have won an event, but whose standard of play isn't a million miles removed from their own. This applies less to SPs, who can watch an ODs match and benefit from the sub...

Can I just say, this is an ideal event for any tournament noobs out there. Across the Saturday and Sunday there are 5 different competitions you can enter (or 7 if you're female), all for just £12 (£14 for women). That's like, the cost of a night out. If you're a teetotaller who only drinks pepsi. Y...

The ideal solution would be for someone to write an article on both physical preperation and mental preperation for the BFA website. This would help towards decreasing the BFA's current (somewhat unprofessional) reliance upon the forum, whilst providing genuinely useful information for the general p...
