Re: League keen to encourage players from across the UK
Hi Martin, League play does appeal to me and I do have a friend in the are who I could perhaps stay with - it's 5 hours (by Car or Train) from here though (Cardiff/Newport). What time are the matches played on the Fridays as I tend to work until 6pm? I wonder how early I would have to arrange to lea...

Re: Same old problem, different country..
Jason and I only ever entered Open events because they were cheap and including in the package deals. We wouldn't even consider entering if they cost more than £5 to enter when we know we'll be knocked straight out. If there is a chance of a "lucky streak" and you're a gambling man... maybe you'd pa...

Re: A Unified Ranking System?
I think I agree with Steve's post above, but Craig also has a point with: fairer (no Pro-M's claiming to be Novice because the table is different) Perhaps rather than a unified list, we just need to constrain ranks such that you can't be a PM on one type and a Novice on another. For example: when yo...

Re: What factors make you go or not go to a tourney?
Travelling is a big issue as are overall costs too. They are in-fact, much the same thing. Probably the biggest problem though, is similar to Tom K's issue of getting knocked out quick and spending the rest of the day twiddling your thumbs. Sometimes it's hard to get free tables or nice players for ...

Re: Foosball Fun Video
I've played on one of those tables - very nice.
Only major issue is lack of levellers.
Really Great video Sim, loved it!

Re: UK Masters 2010, Tornado Pro-Tour, 23rd-25 July
Novice Package - £35 OS, OD, AS, AD 3000ltd plus table fees. £14 savings. If you think about it, it only works out at £6 for each event which I think is completely reasonable plus £5 table fee. Maybe include all the novelty events in the £35 too for novices. You have to remember, there would be mor...

Re: UK Masters 2010, Tornado Pro-Tour, 23rd-25 July
Novice Package - £35 OS, OD, AS, AD 3000ltd plus table fees. £14 savings. I appreciate this is a "Masters" event and perhaps should be treated differently to other events but that £35 is just way too much for me. If I am honest, I probably wouldn't go anyway due to the location and the lack of novi...

Re: ONE ITSF SPEC TABLE
but why is there NOT even a single British-designed (and preferably British-made as well) professional foosball table at all? I would guess nobody has figured out how to have the rod-heights adjustable to accommodate all the players diving and crying like girls if anyone else breathes near them.

Re: are there any outdoor coin operated tables?
FAS make the Rainbow outdoor coin-op. I'm pretty sure Garlando do an outdoor table but I'm not sure it is coin-op. The "Deluxe Outdoor" is a an outdoor coin-op Garlando. Very nice table - it was the one I played on most at college - though cannot attest to it's weather-proof-ness as it was indoors...

Re: ONE ITSF SPEC TABLE
I'm not against the idea. Haven't seen much of what the ITSF have been doing but some of it seems quite destructive to the sport, so if each table manufacturer ran it's own federations & tours, it might be a very good thing indeed. I am very interested in what the ITSF Spec table would be though - p...

Re: Warwick Open 2010
Package deals look great value - do they include table fees? To be honest I think Semi-Pro players get a pretty good deal at most tournaments, whereas Pros get a pretty lousy deal at a lot of tournaments. Even if there was just PD and PS (no SPS) I don't think SPs could really complain. I'm definit...

I'm a bit bummed about the lack of Novice Singles.Happyham wrote:Where on earth is semi pro singles?! If I was semi pro, I would be kinda Bloop that I had to play pro singles and get bummed by a whole loada pro's that are likely to turn up.
Doubt I'll be going though, dissertation is due a couple weeks later.

Re: Transport and Accommodation for Altrincham 2
Hi, try to send a PM to Jozsef Tari as he lives in Newport as well. If he is going to the above tournament I'm sure he wouldn't mind giving you a lift. Just a thought! Krisztian Thanks Krisztian, though Jason has discovered he probably won't be able to get the time off work anyway so we'll have to ...

Transport and Accommodation for Altrincham 2
Hi folks, Jason and I would love to go to Altrincham but we're both on a tight budget at the moment so are looking for a lift there and back. We don't mind if we go up on the Friday or Saturday but we do need to stay till the end of Novice Doubles on the Sunday night. We're based in Newport, South W...

I had kind of hoped it wouldn't, so I'd stay Novice longer than two tournaments (I think you'll all agree that I deserve to!

Re: Altrincham Tornado Open 2 - 19th-21st March 2010
Really great news, Joe. Thanks for arranging the event.
Definitely hoping to come if I can find the cash.
I noticed it won't count towards ITSF ranking, so does it also not count towards BFA rankings?
Cheers
