Re: November Newsletter
On reflection i want to emphasis one point made badly above. Some of the functionality Tom (and others) has added to the site as webmaster is excellent. But it is lost within the overall scheme of things, and rather than simply relying on unpaid volunteers to role such things out - the BFA should ma...

Re: November Newsletter
I just know that for 5 years the suggestion of spending BFA money on tables was shot down by the general view that the BFA could not under the terms of its constitution buy tables. Indeed, we even changed the constitution so that it was clear we could recommend certain tables that we considered up t...

Re: November Newsletter
No idea how the BFA can commit to paying £7,000 for ten tornado tables. Table independent my Bloop arse. Of course, good news for tornado players - paying £5 table fees is not a bad deal. Clearly garlando players have done relatively much worse, in that they are paying the same fees for tables which...

Could we get Adam Imamanpoo over for some US style visualising? The Doctor wrote:It might be interesting if they presented the players as believing fervently that t-f is a sport and hugely important.
As it is, nobody seems convinced, not even Rob.

Re: Data Loss / Web priorities
I am probably repeating others, but here goes: - The forum was hacked, and all posts (other than topics and announcements) older than i think 1 month were deleted.I dont know how long it took before we noticed, but suspect it was weeks not days. - I tried to get the server admins to restore the mont...

Garlando tables reverting to the BFA
Two years ago a number of individuals including myself ("Table Sponsors") funded 10 garlandos, and simultaneously entered into an agreement with the BFA whereby the BFA would support/promote the tables - but on the basis that proceeds would pay off the principal and nominal 5% pa interest, and that ...

Re: Questions for Dave Perrott
I had accepted the decision and decided to walk away from the game completely, but there was one unpaid "moral debt" which I asked to be acknowledged as still standing. OK so finally you accept the Havelock is irrelevant in this. Your gripe - which i think i identified in the my first post of this ...

Re: BFA Governance (split topic)
I asked Boris after the time limit for witnesses coming forward was up. Any info I had beforehand was hearsay. Seeking out witnesses should be the job of those investigating, not the complainant. Blaming me for not seeking witnesses is weak. Now who was investigating? Let me see.....ah...time for s...

Re: BFA Governance (split topic)
Dave, i think my post on the other thread will show by your own words that you were at the time aware of witnesses not coming forward.
Perhaps it is time that you accept the verdict and move on.

Re: Questions for Dave Perrott
I was not aware of any witness statements, other than from DZ and Jude. I think boris asked the promoter, and we emailed Tich for his side of things but he did not reply. I did not know who the other witnesses were. The racism bit was never part of my thought process, but it did result in the follow...

Not wanting to go against someone volunteering their own time and trying to help, but not quite sure why this topic has been split.

Re: Questions for Dave Perrott
The process obviously wasnt that good as it failed. Since then when a complaint is made the witnesses re properly canvassed for their opinion and the appropriate communications entered into. FACT The facts i am aware of are as follows: - Mase you were part of the committee that determined what acti...

BFA Governance (split topic)
The above discussion posts have - i think - perhaps got to the core of the Havelock incident issues in a way that previous diatribes have not. I was not at the havelock and really only had Dave Perrott's comments to go by. These referred to Dave Ziemann as referee and Jude as tournament official. I ...

Re: Questions for Dave Perrott
My gripe is with the BFA fpr failing miserably to deal with a real incident where a ref was threatened at a tournament. I thought i was an appropriate person to adjudicate - given i was not there and fully considered witnesses' views before a committee consensual decision was taken - and I am sorry...

Questions for Dave Perrott
OK i will try to be constructive here. Dave, i am trying to understand the grievance here so please do bear with me. I think there are three key events that i want to understand. i) World cup team selection: i genuinely do not think the BFA committee was involved in sorting out the admin mistake, bu...
