Re: Oxford International Open Partner Thread
I realise it's rather short notice but I'm looking for partners for ND, AD and probably NPD too. Only playing on the Saturday and not sure how late I'm staying, probably depends how well I perform! I'm a Novice myself, still. I play both back and front so am happy to stick to one or the other or eve...

Bill this certainly looks impressive. I hope all the novice/amateur players out there get to hear about this event and of course, actually attend! Looks like you've gone all out to provide late night entertainment too - be interesting to see how the quality of play fares on the Sunday! I hope that p...

Stumpy where were you?! To be fair it was a bit of a 50p fest tonight - nobody knew whose money was whose and there were too many people about and not enough organisation. Ben, I must have left about ten minutes after you did, as did many others so I guess I'll see you next week (and save those 50s ...

I've not said anything on the matter yet myself, but I feel I'm one of these target audience people that are currently greatly affected by what is being debated. Yes, I have been to one tournament (the first Holywell) and largely it was enjoyable. I was playing atrociously foosball wise so people pr...

I'm in. Should be there sometime after half ten straight from work, not for too long though - headed to The After Dark afterwards! Although I'm sure your usual offer of "just one more game.." will keep me there a while Ben!
Hopefully I'll be showing at least some of the prowess that I had last week!

Brilliant idea. In fact last week I had a fireman purchase an old laptop off me here in Reading because he said they're often sat around with not an awful lot to do. On top of that I think it'd be interesting to see if the Foos4Fun/Rileys relationship could be extended to other parts of the country....

I love it. Although this does rely on people to volunteer to play with a n00b in open doubles. Perhaps these volunteers should get a deal on that event to compensate, or perhaps there are kind enough people to volunteer regardless. I've only attended one tournament myself and haven't been back to on...

Phil, there's no "official" night for us at the Turtle, that'd involve someone actually trying to organise us all! At the moment we generally just turn up on a friday night (usually after 10pm) and rely on the fact that a fair number of others do. Turnouts vary greatly, some weeks there will be 10+ ...

it will take a dedicated person with time to burn to make this a success. Sounds like the perfect job for a student then. More seriously though, schools are definitely a great place for starting to play table football - particularly sixth form rooms/centres. I'm sure Chaz will testify that at our s...
