Post a good period to play?
Tue Sep 30, 2008 9:04 am
Hi to everyone from ROBERTOSPORT

We are preparing 2009 WCS in Giubiasco and trying to understand what would it be the best period to do it. There are a lot of aspects to be considered: the availability of the  location or the other tournaments dates just to mention a couple of them. But definitely one of the most, if not the most important issue is the availability of the players.

We were thinking about 1 – 3 May. The first May is Friday, and in a lot of European countries is national Holyday.
May is normally an excellent period, I mean in terms of weather .

What you think about that?

Would be a pretty poor time for students.

Thanks for the reply Joe. But....percentually how many students compared to the overall number of players potentially involved in competition? It is an interesting data....

I know - theres not that many, 2 from the UK at the last one.

I just want it later for purely selfish reasons - I just want to come back next year and win the Sunday DYP final

The holiday times just seem easier for everyone - students are free and it's easier to get time off work.

I'll be turning up whenever you hold it! (Work permitting...)

Thanks a lot John.

Taking this decision is my  current  biggest headache…sometimes I think we should take it collegially   with all federations, meaning the players, and manufacturers involved.
I will inform you guys shortly.
Thanks again for your help
