I'll be the first to break the ice then....
Naturally one of my fave tournaments for personal results in particular. Also because there was a prize fund at this one! :D
A spectacular showing from the Bristol boys ranging from Chris Hutton and partner's second in AD.... to mine and Dave's OD win.
Mike A = 7th in OS / 2nd in OD
Dave B = 4th in OS / 1st in OD
Happs = 3rd in OS / 1st in OD
Bobby Davey = 5th in OS / 2nd in OD / 1st in NPD
Individual moments and performances I noticed....
Me beating Juj in the winners side of OS after being 6-3 down in the final game (race to 7) :D
Tom Burdett and Oli Deakin 3rd in OD... Tom showing he can get good results not just playin with Juj / Alex etc.... Nothing against Oli of course, I thought you played your part in the games I saw. Well played bluds.
Zico and Nubbert making a real tricky team with some difficult shots to stop! Dont know where you boys finished but we had tough games for sure!
Rob Davey's general results showing that hes not just a tornado player, and has a natural ability to adapt. Great showing, and Im sure its only gonna get better. Well played you Bloop
Dave Bareham beating Tom Burdett in OS... Some quality instinctive shots from Dave, Tom just didnt seem to have an answer!
Joe Latimer having the worst foosball weekend of his life.
Steve Lyall playing real great when I saw him.... I guess I finally have to think hes alright at foosball. :D
Thanks again guys! Well done those who chipped in behind the desk, as always warwick puts on a great tourny.

Superb tournament. Thanks to the Warwick guys who put this tournament on, and the previous ones. You all do an excellent job and make things very easy for the players. Many thanks for all your efforts and to those who help out behind the desk.
Congratulations to Joe and Dave B for winning Open Doubles and to Paddy for Open Singles! You all played to a very high standard all day and deserved the winning positions!
Also Congratulations to Caroline on winning Womens' Singles - about time you put some effort in . Sarah was playing very well too, so this will make things very interesting for the near future.
All the above, I believe, have won their associated open events for the first time. (Paddy - first Garlando title?) Well done.
Looking forward to Bristol

I seem to remember Paddy winning OS on FAS, and winning at the UK Garlando Masters in 2004 (against me in the final - can't remember if it was singles or doubles - I seem to remember a hat-trick of 2nd places that day...

Thanks to the Warwick guys for once again putting on a great tournament.
For anyone that's interested, I should be able to get the updated POY rankings online by Tuesday. Anyone wishing to enter ANY UK Championships event is reminded that they must inform me of their entry and table choice for each event by midnight on Saturday 30th June.

Great fun tournament, though my results were not so hot. Thanks to the Warwick crew and Shovo for sorting it. Interesting how the top OS & OD teams were pretty much disjoint.
Here is a flickr slideshow of some photos I took. Click on the big "I" to get the captions:

Well done to the Warwick boys, awesome tournament.
Thanks Nubbert Snr for partnering me, I think we did very well, beating Paddy and Shovo, and being 2 points away from beating Joe and Dave (oh so close from the 3rd place finish to allow us to play in the UK championship), coming 5th in the end, which was awesome. At the match against PaddyD and ChrisH you were carrying me totally and I felt really bad, but as the day goes on I think I've picked up my game, and held my own ground at the back. :D
Mike I can't believe you out filth me in OS! Revenge will be sweet.
Gratz Jee, Mike, and Paddy for winning SPD, APD, and OS respectively.
I would also point out that me, Jee, Mike and Paddy came in the same car, making us one of the top foosing car of the weekend!

It was a good day out. I had some enjoyably frantic singles games, then a very long wait, then a load of doubles games. Suki and myself were ecstatic to actually win some games!
Personally I'm really enjoying myself; I can see what needs doing, even if it's not happening yet. Big thanks to the foosball players for providing a socially enjoyable scene and good competition.
Thanks to the organisers and thanks to Dave for more quality photos.

Superb tournament. Big thank you to all of the Warwickites.
wtg Bristol. Top results from from all who attended. Maybe we will see the warwickites get some revenge in Bristol in 2 weeks time.........
Feels great to finally win an open event after a couple of near misses. Nice one Joe, we certainly had some tough games, but we managed to win them all this time. Nice push snake at 1-0 down and 6-6 against Tom and Oli, you put it away when it counted the most.
Well played Rob and Mike for making the final when it looked pretty unlikely from early on. Zico and Nubbert played really well to get 5th. You guys certainly present a different challenge to deal with than most teams! I can see how you beat Paddy and Shovo now. Also Steve and Dan played really well against us. What happened? I thought you guys might have got further in the loser's bracket.
Singles was good fun. Certainly for half a day I played the best Davey B style singles that I have played for a while. Don't really know what happened later in the day, but it was fun while it lasted.
Well done to Paddy for winning OS. It looked like a tough final against Juj from what I saw. Well done to Joe for rememberring how to play garlando singles. I still can't believe you beat Juj from a game down and then from about 8-0 down in the decider. Awesome comeback.
Got up at 7am, went to bed at 5am. Good times.

Cheers Warwick - was a cool little tournie, nice to be able to fill the gap between Bar Kick and Bristol.
Major thanks to Tom for carrying me the entire way thru OD. Don't think I had a single match where my game was really up to scratch, was generally a very poor tournie for me. I had a brief period where I played ok (mainly during my OS match with Shovo, losing sweaty b in the last game - cheers mate, good game!) but the rest of the day was a disaster, managing to scrape wins by the skin of my teeth (or by the skill of my partner ).
Cheers Iain for the nopro partnership, you held it all together nicely from the back spankin in a few tasty goals! Shame we didn't get further, but by midnight I could barely stand let alone play haha! Good high 10s!
Well done B&H on winning OD, good stuff!
See yall next week

Thanks to Harry and the team, it was a great Tournament.
Congratz to Paddy, Joe and Dave B for their respective Open wins.
Rob, it was great playing with you. I was sure we were heading home in about 9th position, but we just kept plodding on, nice result - shame we couldn't keep it up for one more match. Teeb and Oli, it was a disaster in the losers final, so disappointing it had to end like that.
Congratz to Rob and Jee on their No pro D win.
It was a really enjoyable day, I would welcome some more one day events like that.

Cheers Jee-Ha. Iwasn't at the tournament, but I presume the flag ship event was No-Pro Doubles, as you listed this first?
PS Do you know the women's singles results?

Thanks to everyone who came and made this tournament a success. A big thanks to everyone who helped organise, set up, run the tournament and clear everything away the following few days.
There are two people who I would like to thank in particular - firstly Harry for being tournament creator, organiser and chief on the day. Secondly, Chris Andrews for being a legend as always, driving the van around, carrying numerous tables on Friday and Monday and always with a great attitude. We're going to miss both of you guys next year!
My final thanks go to the rest of the team: Colin, Nubbert, Luke, Alan, Rich - you were all stars.
Despite the slight overrun, this tournament was a big success and I think we're all keen to do something very similar in the autumn. I know Oxford are also trying to do something around that time, so hopefully for once we'll have a packed winter calendar.
As for my own results, there's not much to be proud of:
OS
- I never really got going, and for some reason was quite nervous/tentative in all of my games.
- Put into the losers by Rob Davey, even tho i took the first game 7-3, unfortunately I couldn't snake on the other side of the table! He kept his cool better than I did in the decider, so well played.
- I then won a few in the losers before playing Dave Morgan, who was shooting the best I've ever seen him shoot and deserved to win. Well played mate.
OD
- Unfortunately it was another nearly tournament for Dan and I (just like Warwick), I think we probably put too much pressure on ourselves to do well.
- Put into the losers by Joe and Dave - I was playing well and felt comfortable, but Joe's snake was too good in the end and they took it 7-5 in the decider. Congrats on the win guys.
- We then had a very nervous game against Colin and Rich - I couldn't stop hitting the crossbar! We just won it on sweatball - you guys were really good and are definitely improving all the time.
- Then we played Paddy and Shovo in a race to 9. Dan and I both started really well, going 5-3 up I think. Unfortunately I faded a bit, and despite being 7-6 up we lost 9-7.
- Disappointed with 7th in a field without Rob, will have to wait for the next one.

OK - sorry to be quibbly or anything, but when are the full charts going to be available to do the rankings with?
Given that the venue has wireless internet, why were they not made available immediately or in real time?
I'd allocated a couple of hours on Sunday to do the job, now I am likely to be away until the weekend...
